Couple 2-4 vs pair 2 for me lol

I think 2 immediately but I wouldn’t be pressed to receive 4 markers if I had asked for “a couple of markers”

My personal answer is 2-4 but my husband firmly says 2 is a couple lol

A couple is 2, when two people are together in a relationship they are often referred to as a couple

Growing up I always thought that a couple met 2,3 or 4 but I had a older lady correct me. And she said a couple is 2 and a few is 3 or 4 so if you want a couple of things from the store you only want exactly 2 things from the store. But I don't hear people talk like that most people if they say I'm getting a couple things from the store they don't mean exactly 2 things.

It means 2 but like with a lot of words people often misuse it, and I think now it’s just kind of generally accepted as 2-4 in society… but it’s just 2
