Hi just needed a bit of advice. Not sure what to do or if I’m panicking for nothing.
I’m just over 33weeks and have started growth scans due to my long term condition. During this scan I was told that my baby is measuring at the 88th percentile? When I’ve been measured by the tape all this time it’s shown to be 50th percentile (I know it’s not accurate).
Anyway the doc said that if it reaches 90th percentile then will be looking to see if I have GD? But when I had my glucose tolerance test at 25weeks it was fine.
I know I’m just hormonal but feeling so guilty and can’t stop crying. I’ve had a rough pregnancy sickness and foodwise and haven’t had that much to eat. The only thing I’ve been able to handle is fruit, ice lollies and coffee frappes (without the cream). Did I induce this?
Any advice would be appreciated.

It’s nothing you’ve done.
Both my babies have been over the 99th centile at birth. No issues, no GD just big healthy boys.
Are you or your partner tall? x

Oh I’m sorry you have this stress. My youngest baby was 95th percentile with 13th percentile femurs. I went down a crazy rabbit hole worrying, and he came out absolutely perfect. These scans can so wildly be inaccurate. I was also tested for gd around 34 weeks (but by that point it’s too late to try treat anyway). They told me worst case they’d just monitor baby’s food intake once born, but thankfully I didn’t have it anyway. Honestly it was just thing after thing during an already very scary pregnancy.
You’re doing wonderfully and your little one will be thriving in there. GD or not, it doesn’t change they’re a happy healthy little baby! It’s just something for them to monitor.
I know hormones will be rife and you must be becoming so tired, so please take yourself out for some you time and take a breather 🥰 you’ve got this 💕

My niece was 89%. Born 9.13lb and perfect but long and skinny lol.
My best mates baby was 95% and ended up being born 7lb odd. So wasn’t truely accurate for her.
My first baby was 8.8lbs and this one now is 96% (33w too).
Just to reassure you, if you do have a big baby they can be perfectly healthy and you can still birth it. I’ve literally just got home from my GD test. Passed the first one weeks ago too but this is to figure out if my baby is big (likely) or/and if i have GD. 2x types of GD - hormonal (insulin needed) or lifestyle affective.
I’m not as worried now I’ve done so much reading. There’s tons of people out there managing GD and most do not have a big issue. Please don’t stress ❤️

I've got GD and my baby is very small - don't worry yourself! It's possible that you've developed GD later on (insulin resistance really ramps up from 32 weeks) or maybe your baby is just naturally big, it's hard to know. Sounds like they're doing the right thing by monitoring you and if GD is a factor then they can help. You're quite far along so even if you did have to adjust your diet or even take medication, it'll only be for a short time.
I've been super strict with diet and exercise throughout my pregnancy and still couldn't control my fasting sugar levels in the morning - that's all down to the placenta and absolutely not a reflection on you/me or anyone else. It's just insulin resistance. There's a lot of unnecessary shame around GD that I was totally unaware of before getting pregnant and it doesn't help any of us. At this point the best you can do is rest, keep hydrated and try to manage the nerves. We're almost there x

It’s nothing you have done. Scans are inacurate too so it might not even be a big baby. If it is it can very well be just a big baby with no GD, or you could have developed GD which is not a result of your lifestyle.
Give yourself some grace and trust that it will all be ok, not long to go now!
I birthed a 8lb 6oz (39weeks) and a 9lb 15oz (40+2) naturally and it can be done! This one is measuring (midwife tape) at 90 centile.. i just make big babies i guess 🤦🏽♀️
All the best! Xx
