I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. My boy (6 months) has been on Aptamil Pepti 1 since 3 weeks old and has taken to it really well, no issues. (His symptoms on normal milk formula were vomitting and blood in stools).
However, a couple of months ago the dietitian recommended trying an amino acid based formula to see if it would clear up his eczema. After 4 weeks of it, his eczema wasn’t clearing up so it was decided we’d just go back to Aptamil (the dietitian explained its better for him to be on Aptamil as it gives him some trace exposure to milk).
However, upon reintroducing Aptamil his cheeks went immediately red and blotchy. The GP, dietitian and I all agreed it could be a big coincidence and just be teething but I was advised to go back to the amino acid based formula for 4 more weeks and try Aptamil again after that.
Today, 4 weeks later, he’s had a bottle of Aptamil and his cheeks have immediately gone red and blotchy again.
I don’t understand how he could have tolerated the small traces of milk in Aptamil pepti for the first 4 months of his life and now suddenly he can’t?! It seems as if the trial of the amino acid formula has reduced his tolerance to milk.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I think we may be having the same issue. My little girl has been on aptamil Pepti for a few weeks now and was great to start with, but the last few days she’s more sick again and her rash has reappeared on her face x
