My girl is 4months old and she been showing a lot of interest in food we are eating she will try and grab some. She does get excited if I do put the spoon near her.
I know some parents do start weaning from 4 months if baby are showing cues. Has anyone actually tried weaning and how have they got on? I was hoping to wait until she is 6mth just so that her digestive system would be ready to tolerate the purée etc
Any advice would be appreciated.

From memory when starting solids with my son (who is now 2.5) the more important “sign of readiness” is whether they can sit up themselves without support, but of course do what is best for your family, just don’t feel pressure to rush to start!

My son is almost 18 weeks so just over 4 months and we are weaning him. He has 2/4 teaspoons worth of food a day.
So far, Banana porridge and then homemade purées of Banana, Aubergine, Apple, Carrot, Leek. You will get strong opinions on this post, but the advice when we were growing up was 4 months

I’ve not weaned yet as my little boy is only 14 weeks old. However due to severe reflux we have been advised to wean at 4 months to help with his reflux.

My 16 week old is showing these signs as well. He watches as we eat and tries to grab at food. Everything is going in his mouth at the minute and I think he's just interested so we are going to wait until he is sitting up more independently and holding a spoon (or items) more consistently and bringing things to his mouth more consistently
