Baby’s sugars after birth

Can anyone share their experience of baby’s sugars after birth with GD? My first was undiagnosed GD induced as baby had a huge growth spurt and was on 98th percentile. Her sugars were fine even though I could have been running high for god knows how long. I’m now due my second have had GD since 19 weeks I’m on insulin metformin and diet control. Have had issues with fasting readings throughout. Baby measuring average if the scans are right. Placenta fine but advised induction bcos of the risk of baby getting too much sugar and sugars dropping after birth. I know nicu would be right place for baby if this happens but I’m just worrying about being separated and this being a big issue etc I’m also worried about being in hospital for a longtime as I have a toddler who has never been away from me and dad over night.
