Sleeping/ Nighttime routine

What time is everyone putting baby down to sleep for the night? And what time is their first wake up? Trying to establish a routine for my baby who likes to do things her way 😅

Routines are mostly about your baby’s temperament. Though it’s unlikely you’ll get a proper routine until 3-6 months. Even then it’s down to what your baby wants! I’m of the belief that life is a lot easier when you give in and let them go at their own pace 🤷‍♀️

Ours has found his bedtime now at 9:30 he falls asleep. We start winding down from about 7 though we have a evening walk and he has a little catnap then for 20-30 mins, then we have some play and change clothes/nappy etc then bottle and settle. His first wake up is 5-6 hours, so 2:30-3 ish and then it could be between 2-3 hour stretches. So between 6am and 7am is his wake up time. He’s 12 weeks x

I always make sure he’s had a big feed before settling that usually helps keep him full and asleep for a long first stretch x

My baby always crashes out at 10 PM and wakes up between 2-4 am for her first feed xx

I normally give my LO her last bottle between 10-11pm at night (normally is put down by half 11 the latest) and at the moment she sleeps through to anywhere from 5-8am.
I say at the moment because I'm absolutely expecting her to wake up in the night after jabs and if she goes through the sleep regression 😂

At this age they just need to sleep on demand and usually on or next to you 🥰

So fed up

Baby only contact naps in a dark room. I'm so over it.

Why can't it be one or the other.
Nap in the dark OR contact nap.
Its not right, it's not healthy.

He's nearly 4 months and I've tried a few times to get him out if this habit but it never sticks!

I don't want this anymore. I dread EVERY nap. I love him and love being a mum during wake windows but when nap time rolls around I find myself regretting being a mum and I feel terrible for it, but I can't do this anymore hours on end in the dark every day for months on end. 😭😭😭

Second hand baby stuff

I am curious what everyone thinks on second hand baby stuff like, car seat, push chair, cot etc. babies grow very fast, they grow out many things in just few months and kinda feel like it is a waste of money and not good for the environment. And also think as first time mum he/she is going to be my only child so I should get whatever is the best. On a dilemma 🤷‍♀️

How much do I actually need to buy?

First time mum, due in September and trying to not over spend. What is everyone’s opinions on how much you actually need to buy. I’m thinking along the lines of baby grows, how many will I actually need? And any other items which you’ve found you end up buying more of for no reason.
Thank you!!

I think we might have hit it. How is everyone else surviving!? Is it too early to sleep train!?

Nap times

Anyone mastered nap times for their baby?
Mine constantly fights sleep and I am trying to work out a schedule/routine to make it a bit easier on all of us. Please share yours.

Sterilising

Are we still sterilising our bottles? I know they say to sterilise until they’re off formula because of the bacteria and all that but I put formula in his porridge and don’t sterilise the bowl and he’s fine? So surely I can stop? 🤞🏼
It’s becoming a real ball-ache of a chore that I dread doing after he’s gone to bed!
