Plugged duct - help!

I’ve got a plugged duct just under my armpit that feels quite big.

I’ve tried all the typical things, heat before feeding, ice packs between feeds etc.

Baby is getting super frustrated so not feeding well on that side and keeps pulling off. I’ve tried pumping and only getting like 5ml each time so it feels like my milk is stuck.

Any advice/ tips to help get my milk moving?

I’m in pain and don’t want to get mastitis 😞

Heat and massage before/during a feed or pump usually has helped me. If it doesnt get better and it starts feeling warm or you feel unwell don’t delay a visit to Dr or midwife to avoid mastitis getting out of hand!

Don’t pump you’ll make the inflammation worse. (You also shouldn’t massage again it’ll make the inflammation worse).

Ibuprofen, get baby to latch with their nose facing the blocked duct.

Also get to the bottom of what caused it to begin with, a bra too tight, a latch that’s not quite right etc x

I’ve had blocked ducts twice recently. First time baby managed to clear it and I knew it was working as it was bloody painful.
Second time I kept popping him on and he wasn’t getting much milk and similar to you, was getting frustrated on the boob. I ended up giving my nipple a gentle exfoliation with a wet flannel and it was something on the actual nipple blocking it and I managed to pump a full oz in a few mins.
Might be worth a shot just in case you have the same!

Things that helped me:
Hot shower or bath
Hot and cold compress
Breast Massage
A mini can of soda (someone recommended and I tried it and it helps!)
Sunflower lecithin (got me some from legendairy milk from target)
Please consult a doctor if nothing works or doesn’t get better.

Hope you feel better soon!

Tooth extraction

I am having a wisdom tooth extraction next week, I will be sedated and the procedure will take about an hour and a half. I have a four month old and I’m exclusively breastfeeding. In the consent form it says I shouldn’t breastfeed for eight hours and I should pump and dump.

I was wondering if any of you had a tooth extraction with sedation and are breastfeeding?

Can you tell me if you had to wait with breastfeeding? If not was the baby okay?

A lot of places say that I don’t have to wait and I can breastfeed as soon as I feel well enough. I have pumped some milk and kept it in the freezer, but I’m not sure if it’s enough and I don’t know if the baby will take the bottle.

Reccos for breastfeeding tops / bras

Hi all, slowly getting my head round what works to breastfeed in public but would love some more help

Looking for supportive tops with in built bra support for slightly larger ladies (DD+) that you can wear without a breastfeeding bra and just yoik it up!

Also looking for a good strapless bra you can feed in by easily pulling down? And along with that any good feeding bras in general!

And any reccos for how to feed in a dress discretely! Thanks so much

4 month sleep regression

Baby is approaching 20 weeks now. We’ve been in the sleep regression stage for 4 WEEKS😭😭 it’s not getting any better. I’m running on empty I’m exhausted and upset all of the time. I feel like everyone else suffers for a week or two and I’m 4 weeks in what can I do? So many false starts, sleeping no longer than 2 hour stretches and she used to do 8-9. So so hard to settle even when fed I’m at my wits end😥

Hi Girls

When should I start putting my baby down to nap, atm i'm still contact napping every nap in the carrier because he either wakes as soon as I put him down or if he does stay asleep he only sleeps 30 mins or less, hes nearly 7 months, im actually completely fine contact napping but im feeling v bad about it as if im doing something wrong and I should be teaching him now 🤔

If your answer is keep contact napping then when long term should I stop? Hes going to Nursery at 9 months old
