ok how are we avoiding/fixing a flat spot on the head? were told to only put baby on their backs and naturally they favor facing one way. can only do so much tummy time i feel like his one side is getting too flat and i can’t get him to stay facing the other way when he sleeps 😩 i really don’t want a helmet!

Our pediatrician actually just went over this with us at our 2 month appt. He told us that flat spots can be pretty normal at this stage and nothing to worry about. He said he would start to get worried about it if it wasn’t corrected in the next 2 months and that’s only because their skull develops more and usually corrects the issue itself.
Our baby prefers one side too. We initially were taking him to a chiropractor who thought he had a kink in his neck. So, we just did exercises with him every day and tried to position towards the other side as much as we could. It definitely helped with his mobility to turn to the other side on his own. Although, even with all of it, he still prefers that one side to sleep on. lol

Lots of baby carrying, side laying, tummy time and have him nap on you. You can also do gentle stretches.
