For mums who enjoy hanging out with their children.

I’m just curious, but what’s the feeling you get when you hang out/spend time with your child/children.

Because I’ve never enjoy hanging out with my child. I’m with him 24/8 so doing something with him or hanging out with him just seems like an extra chore on top off doing EVERYTHING. (I’m a single parent)

Just want to say I love my son to bits &feel guilty I feel this way & I wish I had whatever feeling you get hanging out/spending time with your children.

How old is your little one?

When my nearly 3 daughter is with me alone, she's good 60-70% of time. She usually behaves well when we go out, sit quietly waiting for food to come, eat quietly without wondering around. so it can be quite enjoyable sometimes.

My little one is 6 and I struggle playing cars or even soft play but I try and find things we both like for instance painting or swimming try and find something you both enjoy

I’m with you. I think it’s called mom burnout. When you’re with anyone 24/7 you begin to feel less excited to be around them. We’re still humans with feelings and emotions. We love our little humans, but there is a dynamic where you need a break. I love my husband and need a darn break and he’s an adult. Also look into nd, turns out I had raging adhd and being medicated help so much it’s almost stupid! But yeah, you’re so not alone. I struggle daily.

Ever since my 3 year old was born I only want to do events for her. I love hanging out with her. It’s more about taking them to cool events, places and giving them a wonderful diverse childhood. It’s about raising them. Giving them the opportunity to see amazing things and be social. If I were a single mom with no help, I might have a different experience though. Do you have any help?

It honestly sounds like you need help or need to change your perspective. Everything you do with your child should not feel like a chore. He can sense your energy and will start to know you feel this way. Do something that you enjoy too!

Traveling to Spain

Hi everyone. Im traveling to Spain next week and ive just read about the new rule they have introduced at border control where they can stop you and ask for proof of your financial situation?! I've read online that you have to prove you have more than £1000 in your bank account to fund your stay or you can be refused entry.. its random spot checks apparently. Has anyone else come across this? As a mum of 4 who has saved hard for a family holiday im not sure I'll have this money avaliable after bills next week. I work part time and have only just come off maternity leave🥺 panicking ....

Happy Pride Month 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I've had a rough start to the month, I thought I was going to be able to start HRT before Pride/during the summer but due to sudden rescheduling on the office's part I will not be seen for treatment until late summer/early autumn, just depending on how things go. My state is trying to take HRT coverage away with my form of insurance and that may also cause further complications with me receiving treatment as well.

I've been going by he/they pronouns on certain spaces online (have not come out much in person yet), I do not involve my children in my transition (they are free to refer to me in whatever way feels most natural to them) they do not currently know about the details of my transition.

However today, my oldest (3yo) randomly referred to me as "he" and has been calling me "daddy" more frequently and that has made everything feel alright. Simply put, to my fellow LGBTQ+ members (& especially trans individuals) the right people will see you for who you are and accept you, even when you feel stuck or alone 🫶🏻 Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Birthday disappointment

My birthday is less than two weeks after my LO. Last year when she was born, I was hardly present mentally or emotionally, far less ready to celebrate or anything. This year is my 30th. I have been talking about getting a Switch 2 as a gift for months, ever since that new Pokemon game came out. My birthday is this week and my partner let it slip that no one is getting it for me.
Am I sad that I'm not getting it? Yes. But more than that I feel forgotten about? Overlooked? Like this was the one thing I really wanted. I told people this. My parents usually get me a higher price tag gift so this wouldn't be something unusual. I feel like since she's been born I'm just in the background. Now I'm sitting on the bathroom floor trying to figure out how to be smiley and appreciative of whatever I do get.
I work so hard to make sure my family and friends get nice things for birthdays and holidays. I start Christmas shopping in October. I spend so much time looking out for others and then end up with a bunch of okay gifts that I don't really want. I don't know what to do or say. My partner has offered multiple times this evening to order it but I don't feel like that fixes it?

Pregnancy is so humbling - vibrator edition

Had a bit of fun last night and wound up in triage because I was bleeding and had cramps.. I keep explaining 'I didn't have sex - just an orgasm' I've never seen a dr so confused. 'How did you achieve this orgasm?' My response 'A vibrator, which i also inserted inside. I've never had an issues with sex or bleeding - this is the first time' she looked at me like I had grown an extra head..

I didn't realise self pleasure ceast to exist whilst pregnant. I'm genuinely mortified..

I explained all this when I called - I wasn't overly concerned but better to be safe than sorry. The midwives were great about it but the Dr was .. I'm so embarrassed

Does anyone else feel so lonely as a mom?

I feel like everyone likes the baby more than me. Forgets about me. I used to be my parents baby. Now when I go to visit and my dad says "where's my baby" I know he's not talking about me. My partner is stressed with work and finances and I feel more like a roommate than a wife. My depression just keeps getting worse and no one around me seems to notice.
