Newborn Nights

What does your night look like with a newborn at the moment?
Mine often won’t settle in the Moses so myself and my husband are up in the living room doing shifts.
Ideally would like to get both of us back in the bedroom and bubs in the next to me/moses.
Any tips welcome! Formula fed baby drinking every 2.5hrs around 60/100ml over an hour feed (one week old).

Have you tried swaddling? When we first came back from the hospital the first 2 nights was hell!! Then in the middle of the night we decided it was time for the swaddles and they went sleep almost instantly for a few hours before they wanted another bottle. Now almost 3 weeks old they’re still swaddled at night but sleep in their bed no problem just waking for bottles

Mine was like this for the first 2 nights as well. Refusing to be put down.

He’s 14 days today and now sleeps totally in the Moses basket. Big thing that helped me was getting him completely asleep before putting him down.. and putting him down feet first so as not to trigger the startle reflex. A lot of things online said transfer when half asleep but mine works much better when he is passed out, which usually means feeding a few times (EBF) and then letting him sleep on me for 10 mins before going into the basket.

Having to take baby everywhere

Do people take their babies with them to hairdressing appointments ? I’m desperate to get my hair done but my 4.5 month old is literally glued to me 🤣 she feeds every 2 hours so I can’t really leave her with any yet !

What would you do?

So I've just seen a profile on here of a mum who commented on a post and being nosy as I am I just clicked on her photo and can't stop thinking that her son has a lot of features of a baby with Sanfilippo syndrome.
I have never spoken to her or matched or anything.
Would you tell her? Just in case she doesn't know or hasn't heard of this?
If you were her, would you like to know?

Breastfeeding

Just wondering how often everyone is breastfeeding? My 8 day old is on the boob all the time and several people have suggested a dummy. I’m not anti getting him one but not sure if I’m just giving in too soon and it’s normal for him to be feeding often at this stage. He’s definitely not only eating once every 3 hours!

Is this normal?

Living with mil and bil with my partner and toddler. Come down to the living room and none of them bother to look up from their phones, say hello or greet us. Happens half the time. Other times they’ll say hello. Other times, ignore us completely.

Toddler wont have a bath, help!

My 2 year old has pooped twice in the bath within days of each other. Which ive had to take them out quickly because their poo very quickly comes out of its poo formation and disintergrates. They cant go back in because it takes 45 minutes to get it all out..... ive not panicked when it happed just went mummy cuddle towel time. But they now wont have a bath and screams poo, poo. Toilet. No! And has the biggest melt down. They wont have a shower they hate water over their head and its a two person job in a shower. At the moment ive tried just putting them in an empty bath fully clothed to play ( which sometimes theyll accept). They wont go in with a nappy or with a swim nappy on. They used to love a bath sooo much and i feel so guilty that ive made them terrified of a bath. What else can I try? Im a single mum.
