Outpatient Induction Vs. hospital stays

Hi 👋🏻

I have an outpatient induction booked for Monday at 41+4 days. Most people that I know who have had inductions have ended up being kept in hospital at the start of induction which worries me. I've also seen far too many episodes of birth documentaries on channel 4 this week that show people in hospital beds on wards waiting for inductions.

I have various notes in my hospital notes which suggest I'm high risk but with extra scans and monitoring I've been told I'm actually low risk as everything turns out not to be a concern.

When I've been in for sweeps, the low risk birth centre see those notes and make it sound like they won't have me and I've had to persuade them both times that I have been that I'm low risk enough. The birth centre still don't seem keen to have me and I fear I'll be referred to the high risk department -im waiting for some kind of confirmation that they have decided where they want me to go and I hope my blood pressure behaves itself on the day!

What have been your experiences of outpatient induction? How many people were sent home after it was done and how many were asked to stay in hospital?

How long were you actually in hospital for on the day of your outpatient procedure? Is it just like an appointment or is it like a day surgery where you are put in a ward/bed?

I went in for my appointment on Monday and we only just got home a few hrs ago. I was also forced to stay in a bed for the full duration of the induction (which ended in a c section anyway) due to baby needing continuous monitoring and not being able to keep on the heart rate.
Not the birth I was hoping for.

I’d be questioning it if you’re possibly high risk. With my first I was induced (high risk) and I had to be on monitors the entire time I literally had to buzz them to go for a wee etc I wasn’t allowed out of the bed and honestly it’s a good job I was on those monitors but won’t go into that

My friend who was low risk also had to stay in and she was monitored every 4 hours. Never heard of out patient induction tbh

I don’t think people always share the good experiences- I was induced both times with my daughters and both opposite ends of the spectrum. My 1st was long and drawn out went in on the Thursday and had her on the Saturday- stayed in and had the drip.
My 2nd , had the pessary as an out patient, contractions started off of that in hospital for 3 hours of labour and she was born ! Home that evening!
So I guess they vary!

I had an outpatient induction with my first. I had the pessary put in at 16:00 ish & went home, I had period pains from 19:00 onwards & woke up with contractions at 03:30 the following morning. We arrived at hospital at 07:30. Entonox was banned at the time so I had an epidural, oxytocin drip, episiotomy, failed ventouse & then a forceps delivery! Not great, don’t recommend.

12 week scan unexpected surprise!

So I was expecting a normal scan with it, bringing my third baby turns out not to be the case as I am pregnant with twins.

I am so excited and ngl still in shock, but the scan went well they're both measuring as they should, and no concerns whatsoever they were just really happy for me and my partner and I'm due on the 29th instead of the 30th so I am now 12 weeks and 2 days measuring.

So unexpected surprise but couldn't be more blessed to be a mother to twins 💙🩷

C section and hospital stay in uk

Hello!
Looking for stories from mothers who had c sections before.
I have my C section booked (due to 2 health risks).
What will it be like? How many nights did you have to stay in the hospital? What was the whole experience like?
My husband and i are trying to figure out if he should take days off from work. But i believe there is no need if me and the baby will be there for observation? He thinks the baby will be with me in the room all the time and he would have to help me with the baby. Where as i think the baby will be kept in the nursery (but i do hope he would actually stay with me in the room) and the nurses would be around to help when needed, therefore there wouldn't be a need for him to be with me at the hospital continuously. He also thinks he would have to stay with me there overnight 🙈
1st time staying in a hospital in uk too 🙈. This is all very new for us.

Can you see it?

I’m due on today but nothing and just had a feeling to test and I swear I can see a very faint line. Will wait a couple of days and use a clear blue test x

Pregnant again 🫣

Our little one has just turned three months and we’ve just found out we’re pregnant again (maybe around 4 weeks but haven’t had my period return since giving birth so difficult to say)

We also have a 3 year old. We’re obviously in shock but leaning towards keeping the baby so I was wondering if anybody has experience of such a close age gap?

When did you start leaving the house ?

Im curious how long it took everyone to leave the house after giving birth?

Whenever people asked how old my daughter was they always say " wow i would still be home recovering "

I had natural births with both 1 unledicated and 1 with gas and air i had a 3rd dagree tear with my first and a 2nd with my 2nd child and had stitches with both

With both kids i was out and about the day after as i just hated being home but everyone just always seemed so suprised but i imagine im not the only one ? 😅
