My 2.5 year old wakes up at 730 and has a 2hr nap at daycare but then has been fighting bedtime and we usually dont get her down till 930-10. On the weekends she often skips nap and goes to bed way easier around 8. Shes happy all day and I think it might be time to drop the nap even though 2 sounds young to me. Looking for the opinion of other mom. When did your toddler stop napping? Is fighting bedtime on week days just a phase? Help! Lol

My 2.5 year old stopped napping with us on weekends when he was around 2…he would occasionally have a nap at nursery but we asked them to cap it as we noticed he wouldn’t sleep until a similar time as your daughter if he’d napped. Now he doesn’t have a nap at all, same age 2.5. He’s always been very low sleep needs though even as a baby.

When my son was almost 3, we started noticing this problem of if he would nap during the day, he would be a pain in the butt to go to bed and go to bed so late

My 2 year old stopped naps when she turned 2

All naps went at 2 years 5 months.
The signs you are seeing are the exact signs that says they are ready to drop all naps.

My 3 year has just started going to school during the time he normally has a nap so no matter how I try 7/10 time he will fall at 4 pm and fight sleep then at 8. It’s an ongoing battle with his sleep atm . He won’t nap at home but away from home he wants too

My is just 1 year and 7 months and she no longer likes to naps when she comes back from day care at 1

Had the exact same issue recently with my 2 years and 9 months old. It's been 2 weeks we skip naps and it really helped our bedtime going well. It was a bit hard the first 10 days or so but this night for the first time he slept 6h30pm-6h30am which is the goal for us. Also he is now doing much better in the afternoon. We are having slow afternoons with quiet activities and it's working quite well now.
