When do you change the diapers?

Ladies, please share what your diaper change routine is - do you change the diaper after your newborn wakes up and then feed or do you feed and then change the diaper? Or else, if thereโ€™s another option ๐Ÿ™‚ If you add the why, I would really appreciate it ๐Ÿ™

Typically I feed then change because they tend to fill their nappies during a feed but if either starts falling sleep during their feed lll change them mid feed to wake them up abit

I was googling/chat gpt-ing this in the car today on my way to my induction ๐Ÿ˜‚
I saw if breastfeeding you could feed on one side, change nappy and then top up on the other side which I thought was pretty cool ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think I'm gonna wing it and figure it out in the moment ๐Ÿ˜‚

I usually change it before I feed during the night as he hates it and otherwise getting him back to sleep is a challenge! If really needed, I would change it again after as well, but I try to avoid it.
During the day, depends on how wet/dirty the nappy is! Usually before and not long after a feed ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™ll feed and then change. If there is poo Iโ€™ll change always. If too sleepy Iโ€™ll change first.

Head smacking

My 13 month old has started smacking himself on the head. Itโ€™s usually when heโ€™s frustrated but heโ€™s never done it before. Anyone elseโ€™s doing this and any possible idea why?!

Does it get easier?

My husband is high functioning Aspergerโ€™s and everytime our LO cries, he gets overwhelmed and can never attend to her - meaning I have to rush and come back home or run to her.

He shuts down and stares rather than call my help to stop it getting to this point.

I appreciate he thinks heโ€™s giving me a break but makes it worse as I now have to regulate them both ๐Ÿซ

Any tips as I just want to enjoy 5 mins to myself without having to always jump in because the times I show him my tricks - heโ€™d rather play video games or be on his phone!

He is also having difficulty bonding due to postpartum depression

He keeps saying when sheโ€™s older itโ€™ll help him as โ€œwhat does she have to cry about, you do everything for herโ€๐Ÿ˜ณ he forgets sheโ€™s a baby at times and natural to cry (trauma from his parents)

Walking

My 16 month old has just started confidently walking recently and Iโ€™ve noticed that he walks on the insides of his feet but on his right foot itโ€™s much more noticeable like his ankle rolls in more.

Is that just normal when little ones first start walking and as they get more confident they flatten out their foot more or should I take him to see someone about about it?

Nappy changes

How can we make nappy changes not as uncomfortable/ scary?

My baby HATES nappy changes. He gets so upset and furious it's hard to calm him down afterwards, even with the boob.

It's so upsetting and stressful for all of us, baby, my partner and I!

Any tips and tricks for how to make more comfortable? We already have something soft to lie on, we already go slow (but fast when needed) and putting down bum first, but when he starts wriggling, the moro reflex start and scares him and he starts crying!
