I feel like a complete and utter idiot, for a sahm that relies only on child benefit had some savings in one of my accounts of £350 and I got scammed into sending it to someone in Kenya, I swear I could cry!!!!

Aw your not a failure, don’t be silly! It happens to the best of us - you were just doing something to try and bring in extra income for your little one/ones. You’re not the first and won’t be the last - we’ve all been there at some point. Main thing is you can get some of the money back! ❤️

There’s a reason these scams are so prolific, because they make them so believable!!
A girl in my town got her Snapchat & IG hacked a couple years ago but the hacker continued posting and messaging as if they were her, saying that ‘she’ had put money into this new scheme and made tons of money, posting photos of designer bags etc! They got my best friend involved and managed to convince her to send £3000 over, telling her ‘she’ would do trading with it and send £10k back in return! Obviously she didn’t get that money back but after reporting it the guy has recently been jailed, the money was going overseas but the guy doing it was in the UK! It’s possible my friend may get some compensation but it took 4 years for him to be jailed and will probs take a couple years to sort compensation but you never know🤷🏼‍♀️
So you’re definitely not the only one, and it’s worth making an official police report because it might result in something!
