I think it’s a combination of honesty (authenticity) and curiosity.

The authenticity is how you show up and present yourself. Honestly, transparently, and with vulnerability. It’s you sharing yourself so they can get to know you.

The curiosity is a genuine desire to get to know them. Then we hope that THEY choose to reveal their true, authentic selves.

Both need to exist for a real connection to be made. Otherwise it’ll be one-sided, shallow, or both.
