Teachers Gifts

My little boys officially approaching the end of his first year in nursery, he’s a September baby so he’s got another year to go before he graduates and will still be going in one day a week. I‘ve decided to give them gift cards instead of stressing over things they may or may not like. How much should I give? There’s five of them he talks about on a regular basis, his room leader is also his key worker. Do you gift differently to the key worker? 🤯 Initially I thought of baking them something as well as gift cards if I have the time for it but I may just do that during Christmas instead 🤔

I’m a teaching assistant & my favorite gift of all time is a little home made Christmas tree decoration. I still put it up every year. It’s honestly the thought that counts, something we can eat or keep! A few cupcakes & a card would be amazing

Why is my last name the price of marriage?

I’m looking for some outside perspectives on a situation in my longterm relationship.

My partner and I have been together, on and off, for 12 years and have lived together for the past 7 years. We've talked about marriage, but we've reached a disagreement that neither of us seems willing to budge on.

He has told me that he doesn't want to get married unless I take his last name. The problem is that I want to keep my maiden name as part of my identity. I’m the last person in my family line with my last name, and it means a lot to me. My preference would be to hyphenate our names so I can honor both my family and our marriage.

He feels strongly that a married couple should share his last name, while I feel strongly about keeping mine in some form.
I'm curious how others would view this. Is it reasonable for him to make taking his last name a condition of marriage? Is it reasonable for me to want to keep my maiden name through hyphenation? Would this be a red flag to you, or just a difference in values that couples sometimes have to work through?

I'd appreciate honest opinions and experiences from people who have dealt with similar situations.

How come nobody replies to messages?

I don’t understand most people on this app. If we’re all interested in looking to make more friends, why are we not holding conversations or seem interested? I don’t know why, but I’ve been on this app for two years off and on, and barely anyone responds to messages, and when they do they tend to disappear. I’m done 🥲
