I am currently 7 weeks pregnant and self referred via the NHS maternity website. I have still not heard anything a week and half after, is this normal? Has anyone else had a scan already?

You won’t have a scan till roughly 12 weeks and it can take up to 10 weeks for them to reach out to you xx

Your first scan ain’t until 12 weeks don’t worry they’ll get to you before then

Well I am 9 weeks pregnant now and self referred them on 07/06/26 and even I haven’t heard from them. I tried to contact gp and they said they can’t do anything since it’s midwife and medical department

My midwife called me the week before I turned 9 weeks to get all my details then gave me an appointment for 9 weeks for a blood test and a general health check! I had all that last year!

I called the NhS Trust directly after not hearing from them for 2 weeks. They said they never received my self referral form. Then I did it again and got my appointments 2-3 days later

I think it depends where in the uk you are. I referred myself and heard back within a day got my 8 week appointment booked in straight away then got sent my 12 week scan 2 days after i refered myself

I self referred last Tuesday and received a letter yesterday with a scan appointment. I was 6 weeks when I referred and the scan will be at 12 weeks.

I self refered when I found out at 6 weeks I didnt hesr anything little about 4 days before my appointment at like 8 weeks +4. You wont get an early scan unless your deemed high risks like multipul miscarrages or lots of bleeds those type of things. You can pay for a private scan (which i did). Lots of places do them, I went via window to the womb and there is always a discount code somewhere for them.
After your first appointment you are generally left alone. You dont get lots of appointments till the 3rd trimester

They can take awhile, 1st scan is at 12 weeks, and you get one appointment before that to go through family history. But if you need to talk to someone about your symptoms you can go to your gp. Also if you are worried there is an A&E for pregnancy in the hospitals that have maternity units. But as well as the A&E it will take hours to be seen.
