Hey there!! Currently in hospital to get induced, been here since 1120am monday (22nd) I first had the pesserie insertion and after those 24h I dialated on the outside of cervix only by 1cm. So they then tried the dilapan rods insertions, they didnt use a speculum for that and it was the MOST uncomfortable thing ever! It litteraly pinched me or something! Idk what happened! It was that painful and uncomfortable that I burst out crying like I have never cried before! I hated it! So ive been given some time to think and i decided to try again but with Gas and Air, in the delivery suite to use the things to prop up my legs, and then the speculum too!! Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?! Or what are your guys' experience with the same induction types!?

Pt 2 - so they wanted to do another pessary… fine… another 24hrs I’m dialated 1cm but during this I was contracting but it was so painful I was given pethadine, which sent me to sleep almost instantly and stopped all contractions and I’m convinced it slowed down everything! The following night after removing the pessary, they needed a doctor to review the doctor came into me 2 hours later about 1:30am and said there was a choice, c-section or try the dilapam rods so I said I’d give the rods a go, they did use the speculum but it was still uncomfy I was so sore from the pessarys… they said they can stay in for 12 hours, I was relived but after 12 hours they decided to keep them in for another 3 hours just to help… then after that they said another couple hours until labour ward are ready, I had this rods in for 19 hours before anything… then I go to labour ward they remove the rods I’m 2cm… each exam worse and worse… they break my waters and then give me 4 hours before oxytocin drip…
Pt 3 - oxytocin drip, worst experience of my life, I asked for epidural, the epidural weren’t working so they’d came to replace and redo it, and again not working, I was in labour actively because of the drip from 8pm on 14th May and at 11:45am 15th May I finally said enough, and elected the C-section, the midwife’s said they were close to saying I’d need to go for one anyway… my little girl finally came 1:20pm of 15/05 via C-section… all I can say in any of this is I wish I done the section at the beginning of the week, and I’m surprised they even allowed me to go that long when they wanted my baby out :(
I really hope you have a better experience than I did and your body works with you! 😢
