Not happy with babies nursery

So my baby officially starts nursery on 1st July and is currently doing settling in sessions which is fine. My annoyance comes with the funded hours and awful communications from their office.

So I did all the right things and returned to work on 31st April and stretch my annual leave so that I could get my code ready for the summer term. I then saw on here that you need to check you can still use said code if you do not start at the beginning of the term as some local authorities are awkward. After months of leaving phone messages and emails I never got an answer so asked in person at my babies first settling in session last week.

I was reassured that my code was fine and could be used. Fast forward to this morning and I get my first invoice and lo and behold they have not included any funded hours and want to charge me £800.

This is devastating for us financially and will logically mean I’ll have to pay this for both July and August. (Obvs I will use the tax free childcare account but that still means paying over £600)

I am so annoyed. I asked this question so many times. I may as well have stayed off work the extra month if I had known then would have only had to pay it for August. I’ve maxed out my annual leave so can’t stay off now and will likely have to eat the cost.

I will of course ring them as soon as they open I’m just so annoyed by the lack of communication on this it’s making me not want to send my boy there.

I know no one can help here just needed a rant

Call them and ask them to explain what's going on. Write an email as well, to leave a paper trail (even if they don't respond). They should honour what they told you and amend the invoice. If they dig their heels in, contact the council (they are the ones who distribute the funds) and see what their stance is. I was in a similar situation (only it was a few months before my LO started) and when nursery wasn't clear with me, I contacted the relevant team at the council and when they confirmed I was fine to claim the funding, the nursery had to accept it (bear in mind, even with funded hours and just 3 days a week, it's still over £500 pre tax free childcare!) Thanks to the advice. They make life so hard for working mums it’s awful. I only have him going 3 days a week, school hours, fudging my and my husbands work hours to do it to keep costs down.

Living on one income?

Hi friends,

My baby is 3 months old and I’m having to return back to work. The commute, stress, and child care considerations are too much and it seems best to quit after a month or two of being back.

That being said, I make more money than my husband and I don’t know if we can live on one income.

Do yall live on one income and just budget tightly? Any tips if so? I’m looking at side hustles but nothing will come close to replacing my full salary.

Angry at our system and culture for making it so hard for moms 😢

Friends??

I am in desperate need of human interaction that isn’t 4, 1, and 3 weeks old. I am a very upfront and honest person, some are intimidated by it bc I don’t sugar coat. There’s no such thing as TMI with me, I need all the details, down to what the weather was like that day. Dark humor is my favorite humor. I really enjoy bed rotting, binge watching movies but sometimes I get a wild hair and go outside.

Looking for a friend 🫶🏼

Hi moms! I’ve tried this a few times before, but haven’t really gotten too far (sometimes it’s my fault as I was dealing with undiagnosed ADHD and just was not good at responding)

I am looking for friends! Preferably local, but I am open to anyone. I am in Burleson, TX.

I currently work from home for a psychiatry clinic and have no childcare, so my days are pretty busy and very minimal adult interaction LOL.

I am 27 years old and my daughter is 21 months old.

I enjoy reading, binge watching TV shows and doomscrolling Tiktok.

Just looking for someone who can keep me company throughout the day and build a solid friendship with.

Need Support

Hi friends. I’m a mom to a 2 year old girl and currently 18 weeks pregnant with my second. My fiancé got arrested 4 months ago and because of this whole situation I am having to sell our house and look for a place that would allow me to pay a year up front for rent. I desperately need support, prayers and thoughts during this time as I only have a max of 3 months to pack this whole entire 4 bedroom house by myself and find a new place.

All my friends basically abandoned me during this. I had a lot of people offer help or promise help and they never followed through and now I realize I am doing this all by myself. Would be nice to just have some people there to cheer me on and send me good thoughts and vibes

Also if anyone wants to be mom friends please please reach out I am so incredibly lonely even if it’s just a friend to text or FaceTime!

Contraception

I had my 6 week check up today, when asked about contraception I said "copper coil" and the GP said I wouldn't be able to have it fitted while I'm breastfeeding/pumping - I said "even if I'm feeding for like over a year?" GP said I would have to wait ATLEAST 6 months before having it fitted and even then I would need prior consultations?

Before I was discharged from hospital, about 3/4 different doctors saw me over the space of 5 days, did their general checks and finished with the contraception question, I answered "the coil" and not one of them said this would be an issue ??

Dr. Google also says:
"Getting a contraceptive coil (IUD or IUS) fitted at the 6-week postpartum mark is a very common, highly effective, and safe choice following a C-section."

Was the GP just chatting a load of bollocks???
