Try hypnobirthing! No one can really tell you how its going to go and how you will react, its very different for everyone. Theres a lot of scary stories out there of course there is but there are a lot of beautiful stories too! I definitely recommend you do a hypnobirthing course though, I found it really helped x

I won’t lie the pain is absolutely horrendous however the feeling when you meet your baby makes every single second worth it. I only wanted gas and air too but couldn’t cope and ended up having the remifentanil drip which made the experience so much more bearable

Oh girl, I could fully relate at this point in my first pregnancy. The most helpful thing I did to get past the fear was learn about hypnobirthing. Hypnobirthing sounds a bit woo woo, but it really should be rebranded the physiology and psychology of birth.

Hypnobirthing by Siobhan Miller is really approachable and easy to read - best way to dip a toe and see if its for you. It describes how birth works and might feel in your body and your muscles, it's really great to take some of the fear out of it.

Only consume positive birth social media stories for the next few weeks - protect your peace. Oxytocin (ie relaxation) and a positive mindset are so helpful to a good birth. Also, in the last few weeks we'll be mad uncomfortable, which really helps incentivise getting baby out ASAP 😅

No girl I was / am same and didn’t even use the gas and air in the end , the contractions / labour wasn’t as bad as everyone made out . Just the stitching was awful , so definitely don’t want a c-section if I can help it 🤣( my own personal opinion ). As a second time mum, more worried about finding a good handheld fan to bring that my 1 year old won’t break 🙄🤣 , you have got this . Also have a 0% pain threshold and got through it without anything , so yeah go with what makes you feel most comfortable and best suited to you!!. Easier said than done I know but read up on the positive birth stories as it’s more common than people make out🥰xx

I have a terrible pain threshold, I with my first birth I didn’t have an epidural because of the horror stories I had heard. With my youngest, I had an epidural and it was the best thing ever and caused no issues. I’m just hoping to get to hospital in time for an epidural again this time 😅 xx

I went into my first labour with a complete open mind I knew I didn’t want epidural and wanted to just cope with gas and air and I did it I just focused on getting past the contraction I was having and when I tell you my 7 hour labour felt like 2 it flew by you just have to get into a bit of a zone I think if you fear if you tense up more try breathing techniques, your body is made for this you can do it xx

Trying not to compare

Went out today to take advantage of air con, with a new friend and her baby. Can’t help but feel that my LO is so difficult and fussy in comparison to hers and that I felt on edge trying to keep my baby quiet and settled whilst we were out. My two month old baby is a few weeks younger so maybe that makes a difference. Trying my best not to compare but can’t help but feel I’m doing something wrong…

Glucose Test

Glucose test was not my friend.. failed the one hour and projectile vomited all over myself an hour into the three hour test while getting my blood drawn.. 🥲 pretty sure some got on the nurse. So embarrassing. On the bright side, they have me checking my glucose 4 times a day for two weeks with a finger prick test. It’s honestly not bad at all. How was everyone else’s experience?

Weight gain during first trimester

Iam 18weeks pregnant and gained like around 15 pounds so far . Is it very uncommon? Because my OB told me to watch my weight to avoid complications. How much weight have you gained since your pregnancy

Confused and sad

I’m 37 + 5 today and just came back from an ultrasound appointment at a different location for my obgyn and was told that my baby is only 5 pounds and 8 ounces and if they have talked to me at all about my babies weight and they have not. I’ve always asked every ultrasound appointment if everything looks good and if he looks healthy and on track and have always been told everything looks great and now I’m being told his weight is very low. I’m just so confused and sad and don’t know what’s going on anymore at this point. I’m never told anything every appointment and when I ask I’m always told everything is perfectly fine. This is my first pregnancy and I’ve been active and drink lots of water and i don’t smoke or drink or have before I got pregnant and take my vitamins but I will admit I’ve eaten a lot of fast food. Has anyone experienced the same?
