Ugh it's been 3/4 hours of not getting my baby to sleep I've done everything I just want to sleep. My husband came to offer help and I just blurted out that I hate this baby and instantly feel guilt and shame and I wanna cry because I love her so much I'd do anything for her and now I feel like my husband thinks I'm psycho. Ugh

Give yourself grace, newborn phase is not easy. The body is already going through so much postpartum, no sleep on top of it makes you do or say things that aren’t yourself. Verbalize to your husband you didn’t actually mean what you said and how much you truly love her, I’m sure he will be understanding and try to take some of the load off of you.

It’s OK, you can put her down in a crib or safe place and walk away for a little bit as long as she is safe. It won’t hurt babies to cry a little bit. They are often really hard to get to sleep if they have gas or they’ve been awake too long. We go on car rides whenever we have issues getting her to sleep and have a white noise machine going in her car seat. We make sure we keep each other up by having conversations about life in general.
