Reassurance

My 5mo rolled out of bed and fell onto the floor. I rang 111 immediately and they didn’t seem too concerned- they requested the out of hours go to ring back within 2 hours. We fell asleep so I missed the phone calls (2am). But the 111 speaker said it has been raised as a safeguarding issue and someone will be out to see me. So I’m a little nervous. Can anyone offer any experience or reassurance of this?
My baby was asleep when she fell and didn’t cry when she landed on the floor. She didn’t seem to have much change, a few red marks on her head that have since faded.
Should I take her to the GP in the morning just to be safe? I’m prob going to anyway. I just feeel like such a rubbish mum.

Both my kids fell headfirst off the bed. Firstborn was 4/5mnths old and rolled until he fell off whilst I was still asleep. Second born crawled straight off at 10 months old! Both OK. I think it’s kind of a rite of passage 🤣 go to the GP just to make you feel better & check her & it’ll help with any safeguarding concerns xxxx

Dont worry she will be absolutely fine they're stronger than we think! Im more annoyed that they've sent someone as a safegaurding issue. Im oretty sure every baby falls of a bed at some point in there life 😂 dont worry mama it literally happens to the best of us you're doing amazing ❤️

It hasnt happened yet but ive saw sooo many instagram posts where tonnes of mums have just said it WILL happen at some point, dont beat yourself up over it! Babies are sort of made to be squishy and bouncy for this reason! Take her to the GP if it will ease your mind but if shes acting herself, no sickness or bruising or behaviour out of the ordinary she’ll be just fine!

Mine hasnt fell off the bed (i need to take every precaution for him not too because my bed is really really high) but my partner did clonk his head coming through a doorway, he got a little egg and cried for a second, i was ill with stress ofc but he was absolutely fine!

We had a similar thing happen but we were asked to take her to the hospital to get checked. They have to refer it as a safeguarding issue for any incident if your child is under 1. We had a phonecall from social services and they just asked how it happened and how baby was now. They looked into our police records and a few things like that. They then called back the next day and said they had no concerns. It is a horrible thing to have to go through but I am glad they're so on it as it helps stop abuse being missed.

The gp wouldn't see our little one with it potentially being a head injury which is why we had to take her to the hospital (she was completely fine by the times we were actually seen). I would probably call 111 back in the morning, explain the situation and how you missed the call and go from there.

My daughter fell off the bed when she was 12 months (about a month ago)

I took her to the hospital because she had a lump but the doctors weren’t concerned. The doctor was amazing with me and I didn’t feel judged, he said “don’t worry, babies were made to bounce” 😅 it made me feel a lot better but lesson learnt for sure. Hopefully that helps. Hope everything goes ok xx

Can’t cope with this

My baby is 5 weeks old. She has been crying for days.

I can’t do this anymore. I have a toddler and she’s waking him multiple times a night and then his behaviour is dreadful all day..

She takes a feed and then screams inconsolably for up to 2 hours after a feed. She then settles and is due another feed again.

I am so unbelievably depressed. I’m not sleeping and I’m not coping and I do not know what to do.

Allergy or normal?

My 8 week old baby has been pulling her legs up, grunting through the night and sometimes arches her back when feeding (and then we burp her and shes ok). The health visitor watched me feed her on Wed & said she was bloated after 2 oz which wasn't normal. She suggested she may have an allergy to the milk (we were using kendamil), her trumps were smelly and we were having to do bicycle legs often and help her to go for a 💩. Her 💩 started off as a paste like consistency and then was runny.

We changed to aptimel pep 1 on Wed and she's even worse, she's refusing the bottle, is crying out in pain and isn't trumping on her own at all and is even worse going for a 💩.

My question is... has anyone had similar experiences to what my baby was like on Kendamil, like was it normal baby behaviour or does she have an allergy to the cows milk?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Me and my partner are going out of our minds 🙏 x

Did you feel relief at child birth?

I'm talking when baby starts physically exiting lol, did you get a sensation of relief, like pressure leaving your body? Or even when your water broke?
My water didn't break until I was pushing and honestly the relief was crazy, like I had been holding my breath for 9 months and finally I could breathe. When I pushed her out I felt like I had been constipated for 9 months and finally pooped, except it was my baby (and probably also a little bit of poop 😂)
