The thought of packing my hospital bag is overwhelming me 😮‍💨✨ FTM

I’m feeling so overwhelmed in terms of now needing to pack a hospital bag, for me and baby.

I have no idea how big my baby is or will be. I dont know what the weather will be like so probably will just pack vests and long sleeve baby grows. I only have 1 tog swaddle but thought I could layer baby up underneath.

Then for me, I’m no where near ready. I barely have any postpartum goodies, need nurseling bras and breast feeding friendly pjs. I feel I have so much to still organise and sort for this…

I just want to shop and try on because I have no idea my size now really. But there just no maternity or breastfeeding clothes in store. So frustrating. Currently shopping on Amazon, and even looking on Vinted.

Kind of wish my mom could just do this for me, never mind I’m the mom now …😮‍💨😅

So tired and have no energy to sort this out and search. 🥲🥲

I bought all my hospital bag clothes from primark i just sized up and now I’m still wearing them 6 weeks pp, I’d do a couple of tracksuits and a couple pairs of pyjamas and then with baby I’d pack a few newborn sets (vest & sleepsuit) and a few 0-3m i also wouldn’t worry about swaddles in the hospital from my experience they tend to sleep really well the first night they’re born anyway x

I'm packing 2 x vests and 2 x sleepsuits in newborn and 0-3 for baby, some nappies, a hat, and a coming home outfit. No swaddles (they're not really recommended now anyway but often the hospital will swaddle them for you in a blanket or towel). For me - pj's- I just size up, a baggy tshirt and loose shorts - you can lift the tshirt easy enough to breastfeed, and if you're feeling a bit self conscious, pack a strappy vest too, you can "one up one down" where you pull the tee up and the vest down. A pack of maternity pads (not regular period pads, the mat ones are softer and more padded), several pairs of old comfy knickers. Spare bra, some breast pads (disposable and reusable). Umm a phone charger. Some snacks, basic toiletries - it's nice to have a freshen up after - and a towel.

It’s a nightmare with trying to find clothes when so many places have shut down! Online is crap because you don’t know how it’ll fit- I’ve sent so much back and my boobs are so big now that I can’t find a nursing bra that is comfy AND fits 😭

For baby:
A few bodysuits in newborn and 0-3.
A few sleep suits in newborn and 0-3
1-2 hats
1-2 scratch mitts if the sleep suits don’t have them built in.
1-2 packs of newborn nappies
1x pack of wet wipes
Nappy sacks.
2-3 thin blankets- honestly, it’s warm in hospital, my babies in the summer have just needed a sleepsuit and a blanket to keep the midwives happy 😂

Owlet sock critical alarm

Daughter was in bed with me last night as she is teething. Her owlet sock sounded the critical alarm at 3:30 in the morning. I panicked and grabbed my daughter but she was completely fine and started giggling. When I checked the app this morning it showed that I had an alert but when I looked at her stats for 3:30 in the morning it doesn’t even show a drop in oxygen. Has anyone ever got false critical alarms? Should I go to the GP to have her checked?

Epidurals

Hello - expecting FTM, I’d really like to hear people’s opinions on epidurals who have had one previously please and their experiences (good or not so good) - no horror stories though please 🥲 I have done a LOT of research myself but would really like to get some first hand experiences, I’m aware of the risks & it’s not for everyone but I’d love to hear if people enjoyed having one and if not, why not 😊 thank you!!!

How are we taking showers?

When he was little, I used to just put the bouncer in the bathroom and I would shower while I was watching him. That’s something I’m not able to do anymore because he became to mobile for the bouncer and also for his swing so I had to get rid of them he tries to escape them by crawling, or he simply starts yelling cs he doesn’t like them. How are we taking showers then?
the other day I put him in his highchair with a couple of toys, but he got bored of it really quickly and I ended up taking a three minute shower. I was also thinking I could put him on his crib with a couple of toys since I can just bring the monitor in the shower with me. I’m just not sure if he’ll like that. Has anybody tried this? Any other ideas?

Hallucinating or no?

Ok so it's 10pm at night. 2 people in bed, blue and white. White is usually asleep by 9:30 but goes to take a shower at 10.

Blue, who is and was awake hears moaning (and heavy breathing) and jokes that they could have helped (white get off). The text chain in the comments follows.

Blue then says they must be hallucinating and to ignore them. White doesn't respond.

Bkue apologises imfor causing a problem, the next morning. White says "it's ok".

Do we think Blue was hallucinating? Or was White lying?

Please, please, please help.
