Has anyone had a breech baby that’s measured big? I’m 31+1weeks now, I’m looking at being induced at 37 weeks. I’m high risk after a late stillbirth last year, my current pregnancy he is breech (Frank) my consultant said he could still turn which I know can happen, but if he hasn’t by 35 weeks she is going to offer me an ECV, if I refuse or it is unsuccessful they will want to do a c section. This is my 4th baby, and all my deliveries have been vaginally. I am absolutely terrified of the recovery from a c section!!
Anyone who has had a c section or
ECV give me your stories good or bad 😮💨 I just want to be informed!

My baby was over the 99th centile and born at 11lb. He was breech until 37+5 he turned on his own.
I did end up with an emergency c-section as he couldn’t descend despite a vaginal birth of a big baby previously.
I was terrified of a C-section (I’d planned a homebirth) but it was a much easier recovery than my previous forceps delivery. Day 3 I was out with the pram, hanging the washing etc so if it does end up that way it’s not as awful as you imagine. At 31 weeks I wouldn’t be worried about breech at all totally normal at that stage x

Look at Breech without Borders on Instagram. My first was breech, I had an unsuccessful ECV and I tried my best to give birth naturally but in 28 hours I had only gone from 4 to 5cm and I ended up with a section. If this is your 4th baby and you've had 3 vaginal births before then don't feel pushed into a section unless it's what you want. I'm so sorry about your stillbirth x

Hey Jade.
Not a big baby (7lb 1oz) but she was frank breech. Failed ECV at 36 weeks and given a c-section at 39 weeks. ECV was uncomfortable but bearable and I'm glad I tried it even though it didn't work. I do think it depends on the consultant as mine was very upfront about the fact that in her experience if they didnt turn easily, it typically was for a reason and she wouldn't continue trying. She only tried twice (she turned her and she sprung back) and it was clear I was in control and able to say stop at any point immediately.
She was my first baby so no comparison to vaginal birth, but recovery from the c-section was very smooth and a lot less scary than I'd built up in my head. Within a few weeks it was just a general soreness.
I tried all the breech baby things. Spinning babies moxibustion, but they didnt know she was breech until 36 weeks.
Everyone is going to have different experiences, but message me if you want to chat or have any questions.
Fingers crossed bub turns for you 🙏

I’m just a bit concerned as we don’t want to wait longer than 37 weeks for
Him to be born after our last loss this is just far too traumatic for us, the recovery worries me as i have a teen and a 2 yo toddler at home, and my partner cant take more than two weeks off work, my Mam will be on the other side of the world dealing with a family emergency then, so I will be on my own two weeks after a section needing to drive my toddler to nursery and take my teen to the bus stop in the morning as his bus doesnt come anywhere near where we live. This is all very worrying x

First baby so can’t compare to vaginal birth.
My baby was breech from 30 weeks, never turned and was measuring big. I was desperate for a vaginal birth as was terrified of a c-section. Got it 36 weeks and he still hadn’t turned.
Thought about having an ECV but for me the risks of having one were not worth it as it could possibly end in an emergency section or the ECV not working and him not turning. So ultimately decided to book in a planned section. I cried for days as it wasn’t my ‘plan’. But ultimately if I was to have another baby I would genuinely consider having another planned section because the whole thing was so smooth from start to now being 8 weeks pp.
The recovery was no where near as bad as how I imagined it and I was terrified for nothing. It was painful getting out of bed and off the sofa for a week and half but after was just sore.
But there is still chance for baby to turn so I wouldn’t worry at this point 🙏

I was the opposite, my baby was breach as I was fully dilated and ready to push so was rushed for an emergency caesarean. Also measured small on the 4th centile but was then born 8lb 1oz. Recovery was surprisingly okay but this was my first baby so I didn't have other babies/toddlers/children to look after as well and my partner stayed home for 3 weeks to support my recovery. I was driving again by 5 weeks and had been on gentle walks. But I tried to make sure I did not overdo it with bending down and lifting especially in the early weeks. I have heard from others that planned sections can be a lot smoother and more relaxing, and some have also reported the recovery being easier but everyone is different. Good luck! 😊
