How much breastmilk to give in bottle

I EBF but I’m going to work soon and need to express and give my baby a bottle. I have no idea how many oz he drinks from the breast so idk how much to offer him in the bottle. He’s 6 weeks and will be 8 weeks when I go to work.

I would 3-4oz. Breastmilk stays good for way longer than what's stated. Never throw away breastmilk in a bottle. Just smell it and if it smells good still its good for baby to drink. You can also have the person put the bottle back in the fridge if they havent finished it yet. Ive noticed my breastmilk stays good for up to 8 hours+ without refrigeration.

I’d start off with around 120ml and monitor hunger cues, if you don’t already make sure to use a slow flow teat and pace feed as breastfed babies are used to working hard for their milk from the breast and can easily overfeed from a bottle.

There are some good breast milk storage guidelines on the NHS website, personally I wouldn’t reuse milk from the bottle my baby’s drunk from, so I’d start off in smaller amounts and go from there. 🩷

Got these for my little one

I brought these for my one year old to get her off the bottles she was on

I did a lot of research on them, and a few people recommended them for her age

Just wanted to see what mums thought on here about them before I start using them

Burning candles?

I know we shouldn’t because it’s not good for adults but especially babies but I miss burning a candle in the evening and we have a rented house that smells musty no matter how much we deep clean everything and air out the house for hours everyday. Does anyone burn a soy candle downstairs in the evening with windows being open whilst baby is upstairs asleep or do you think it’s too much of a risk? Any advice /opinions would be greatly appreciated (my baby is 9 months btw)

Agitated when breastfeeding

My 5 week old son is breastfed and expressed milk fed via bottle and normal is content on the breast but today out of nowhere he is really agitated and screams as if he isn’t getting any milk but I use a nipple shield and can see the milk is there. Any advice? I don’t want to have to give up breastfeeding 😢

Antibiotic effect on breastmilk

I have been taking amoxicillin for a week now and my EBF baby has seemed to be coincidentally having GI issues? Larger spit ups, visibly and audibly uncomfortable, straining to poop/pas gas, lots of mucous in stool etc etc. he’s happy but also very uncomfortable. Anyone else have this issue?? Yesterday was my last day so I’m hoping he feels better soon. I feel so bad 😢
