Potty training mums - are you all using a travel potty when out & about? 👀

What are you doing when your toddlers need the loo & you're out & about?

I dislike the idea of carrying around wee & poo 😬 but is that my only option? 😂

I don’t but before we started potty training I said I’d get a travel potty but just never did.

We just go potty before we leave the house. If we’re out and he’s drank a lot, I’ll make sure he goes to the bathroom. I’ve never been in a situation where he’s needed to go and a bathroom wasn’t available though. Or he just holds it.

But I have 2 more boys to both train at some point 😅 so they might be different 🤷🏾‍♀️

We have a My Carry Potty, but we can generally empty as soon as we’ve used it (wees just get emptied into the nearest hedge…). We wouldn’t want to be without it. Even if there’s a public toilet nearby, they are sometimes so grim I don’t want my little one touching anything, so she goes in the potty and I empty it into the toilet. Also great having a potty with us as we only get about a minute warning between my little one saying she needs a wee and the wee happening.

Even though you don’t need it with My Carry Potty, you can get potty bags that catch everything and you can pop it in the nearest bin if you don’t want to take it with you, same as dealing with a dirty nappy 🙂

We have a Potette plus, I can put it on public toilets or at friends/families house. If we are out and not close to a toilet pop a liner and it goes straight in the bin! Many times we’ve used it in the park or in a corner somewhere.

Worth the money for us https://potette.co.uk/products/potette%C2%AE-plus-2-in-1-white-blue?variant=49104844882185&country=GB¤cy=GBP&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22706715309&gclid=CjwKCAjwgajSBhBEEiwASicJUxGz8bB6KCswAlGWOlOamNKN8WYV8ogLERcECeR9Z_AOOHMwO6JrmxoCmkQQAvD_BwE

We have a little foldable toilet seat, it's great! Means they can sit on the big toilet and then it folds away really compact so easy to fit in the bag and don't have to carry any poo and pee around!

Advice/toy recommendations?

Please don’t judge🙏 - I’m desperately seeking some advice or toy recommendations for my 6.5 month old Velcro baby. She simply won’t play on her own or give me a simple second to myself and I’m honestly going completely mad. I barely get a second to myself to brush my teeth and go to the loo without her whining and crying. I am utterly, utterly desperate and feel completely burnt out but I have no other choice but to keep going as I don’t have any support at all (no family, I feel desperately alone) and husband is hands-off. I’d really appreciate any advice on how I can get through this. Thank you🙏

YouTube kids

Anyone else just fed up with YouTube kids. I have blocked so many channels that are just filled with brain rot and ai generating shit but it feels like these accounts are like a Hydra! You block one and three more just pop up. It feels never ending!! I have set the setting to the youngest option and these stupid videos still show up. I have banned YouTube kids all together now but there is some good educational stuff on there that my son enjoys. This is just a little rant more than anything 😅 just needed to moan a little bit😂

Nappy for an hour

Hi I'm day 3 of potty training and my little boy has rugby for half an hour today. Do you think it's a set back if I put a nappy on him for an hour so he doesn't need to change during his class.

Me being unreasonable?

Am I the bad one for not jumping over the moon when in laws are coming to visit? Can't I just be ok/tolerate it?
I feel like my husband is putting so much pressure on me and blames me for being in the middle of awkward situations when they're here that indeed when they come to visit I'm not overly excited. But it's like he can't deal with them as his parents and I'm supposed to be the bad one..

Asking for advice

My little boy turned 1 on Thursday 🥹 we had 3 days of celebrations and today we are just staying home so will be trialing his new routine.
I just wanted to ask for any advice really if this new routine looks ok, he’s not a massive eater so it does worry me that he won’t be eating enough food and now we will be massively cutting his milk intake it worries me he just won’t be getting enough food or milk.

7am wake up and 240ml bottle
(Mixing formula and cows milk until fully onto cows milk)

10am breakfast
This will be something like Weetabix and fruit or overnight oats and fruit or toast and fruit and water
No bottle

2pm dinner
Something savoury so like pasta, meat, vegetables, with water
No bottle

6pm bedtime bottle
300ml (mixing formula and cows milk until fully on cows milk)

Usually he would have a bottle at 10am and a bottle at 2pm but I’m hoping to drop those 2 bottles so that he just has a wake up bottle and a bed time bottle and I’m hoping he will eat enough at 10am and 2pm.

Never realised how overwhelming feeding babies was going to be 😩

Struggling with potty training 😩

Please telling me all your tips and tricks she’s 2.5 and terrified of the toilet 🤦🏽‍♀️😩 won’t tell me if she needs to wee I ask constantly (probably annoying her tbf) I’ve been trying on and off for a few months but this time I’ve been determined but a week in and we still haven’t had a wee on the potty or toilet 😭 hard seeing others say how easy they found it probably the hardest thing I’ve found.
