Circumcision

Hi I just want opinions/facts on Circumcision. I want to know if it’s necessary or if I can skip out on it. I just want what’s best for my sons health and i don’t have much knowledge on circumcision and my OB is asking if I’m going to do it if not

My husband is but we decided not to bother with our son.

He’s 18m now and not had a single issue and he’s actually been easier to clean than my daughter was. If we have another boy we wouldn’t circumcise him either.

My father went to UK for a couple years and knew a family who had health problems with not doing circumcision, why he knew this, is even beyond him. I know there is a lot of split opinion especially international outside of the US.

We decided not to circumcise and are happy with our choice! It is medically unnecessary, irreversible, and comes with more risks than leaving him intact. :)

We didn't do it to our son. I didn't want him in pain for the first weeks of his life for a procedure that isn't necessary. He's two and no problems.

We had my son circumcised and the hospital fucked up, which led to him having to be re-circumcised when he was one. Would not recommend after our experience.

We decided not to after lots of research. It’s not needed and as long as your child is kept clean and taught how to clean themselves it’s fine . I haven’t heard anyone who hasn’t done it have an issue

We decided to circumcise our son and the procedure was done in 10-15mins went great. They were going to keep him for an hour but he got hungry so he came back to mama in the room for observation. We were definitely nervous going into it and the first day or two but we were taught how to keep it clean and it healed in a week and he’s doing great so glad we chose to. Easy to clean; healed perfectly fine! Definitely recommend.

I would leave that up to your son when he’s older.. I think it’s such a personal choice and something he will have to live with. I know you can’t even compare the two, but I only pierced my ears when I was at university. My parents never pierced it when I was a child and left it for me to make that decision as an adult.

Mums who have been through all the baby stages

Which stage did you find yourself wishing away the most? Not necessarily which was the hardest bc for example a certain stage might be hard but also really rewarding which counteracts the hard bits. Which stage was overall your least favourite? Please let me know all the details in the comments 🙏 What was hard, what was good?

Free stuff?

I’m 21 weeks today and so far haven’t explored any of the freebies. I tried to sign up for one of them but it ended up wanting all my details and I ended up getting nothing. Which are easy and actually worth while?

When does it get easier!!!

Parents of older children, what age did you find life got easier? My toddler is 2 and 1/2, everything seems like a fight, getting dressed, brushing teeth, eating dinner, leaving anywhere like the park, tantrums are constant!! It’s honestly exhausting and getting me down. What age did people find everything just gets a bit easier???? I know there is an end in sight but just curious when 🙈

Inconsolable crying

We had our baby on 1st July at 39 weeks via csection because she was breech.

At 6.8lbs she’s healthy and has been doing well.

I’m trying to breast feed which is generally going alright, though she doesn’t have a great latch. I have a lactation consultant coming Monday.
Yesterday she would give feeding queues and then not latch, so feeds were harder.

At night she was inconsolably crying from about 12:30 am until about 4:30 am. I’d changed her nappy, her clothes for comfort, I tried feeding, we rocked and bobbed, walked around, skin to skin, shushed and sang, checked her temperature and just had no luck.

It’s horrible to see her get so upset and worked up, when I know she’s too young to get colic too. Just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences? I’d hate to miss a sign something is wrong.
