Snacks!

I am 34+4 and starting to think about the hospital bag.
Have got a good list going regarding clothes and toiletries are concerned but I'm thinking what food to bring!
With my first boy I was in the hospital for 19hrs all in all and defo didn't have enough food!
We are vegetarian so no meaty recommendations please! 💚
Obvs not going to start packing the food now, just trying to think ahead!
Thanks 🌻

Pack any types of snacks you want and fancy eating while you are there, I’m not a vegetarian so I wouldn’t know what types of snacks are and not, but I did a whole bag of breakfast bars, crisps and chocolate and I forgot to actually take them. Plus while I was at hospital I ordered food to the hospital.

Nuts mixes, Lucozade, chocolate if you like it, some cheese / savoury snacks

Honestly loved have Lucozade flapjacks and chocolate rice cakes. I found it nice to bring a pack of individually wrapped stuff. The morning after my partner went to Costa and I had a full fat Coke to celebrate my hard work

Coconut water and electrolytes (sachets / tablets)
Jaffa cakes
Carrot sticks
Sweets
Somethings that will give you a quick burst of energy should you need it

Maybe a cool bag with some ice poles or something in if it'll be summer

Honestly I took a lot of snacks and barley used any I feel like it depends on the birth your having if your having a medicated birth like an epidural snacks and electrolytes would be great but when I had mine I did a natural birth with no pain relief and I was in active labour for 31 hours so eating was not on the cards for me x

Private Scan

I had my private scan today (reassurance for my paranoid self) and I’m measuring 3 days ahead (8 weeks 3 days) and then the man said oh do you want to see your baby in 4D? Didn’t think you could see an 8 week baby in 4D so there we go!

Choosing our 2nd son's name just showed me even more, how culturally inept people are

We chose a first name for our 2nd son and yes granted it is very uncommon, but it's what my husband and I agreed on and loved. My husband is half British and half Jamaican, so the name is in honor of that. We chose the name Babatunde, also before we even chose that name our first son kept pointing to my belly saying "Baba". When I told family/friends I got some "LOL's" or "what a mouthful". I'm kind of used to this anyway because with our first son people STILL say his name wrong even though it's not hard at all and these people are family and his own doctor 🤦🏼‍♀️ I remember being at a baby group and a Mum asked if my son was Japanese because of the "weird name"... His name is Kaizen (pronounced Kaizen (like sky) and Zen (as in Zenn garden). He consistently gets called "keyzone" "keyzen" "kozen" half the time I know it's just ignorance. But all this opened my eyes even more to how inept or ignorant people are when it comes to other cultures or ethnicity. Obviously I'm extra aware especially with the way the UK is going. Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this?

Settle something for me.....

If your partner went out to the shop to grab a picture frame, and while out messaged "do you want anything else?" To which you replied "no", but then he came home with an ice cream for everyone in the family but you....would you be annoyed?

Like I didn't realise you were somewhere that even sells ice cream, and didn't realise everyone was getting ice cream but me!

Just to add, I'm currently 8 weeks postpartum and breastfeeding and so am permanently hungry 😂

Pressure

Hello I am 35 weeks pregnant and have I been feeling lots of pressure and stabbings in my vagina and bottom the last couple of days especially when walking. Does this mean I am going to go into labour soon ??

Seriously fed up

I’m 34 weeks on Tuesday and I’m so over being pregnant. I wanted to enjoy it as this is our last (3rd) baby but I’m just miserable, uncomfortable, feel like a bad mum for not being able to do more with the kids. I cannot wait for this to be over!

We’ve discussed induction based on my previous VERY fast labour- how early can they induce me for this?
