Newborn sleep

Newborn (6days old) keeps rolling herself on side despite me putting her back on her back, she moves herself straight back to laying on her side I’m getting so worried

Is she in a next to me cot? When the side is down some next to me’s tilt to the side which makes baby roll on their side

My LO rolled and slept on his side I asked the midwife she said it can be a preference as that may be how they let in the womb and if baby can put themselves there then don’t worry they can put themselves back! I have noticed a swaddle helps, I use the love to dream and he now doesn’t go into his side as he can’t with his arms up!

Free stuff?

I’m 21 weeks today and so far haven’t explored any of the freebies. I tried to sign up for one of them but it ended up wanting all my details and I ended up getting nothing. Which are easy and actually worth while?

England game

Just curious, would you be happy for your partner to go out to watch the England v Mexico game tonight at 1am when you are 12 days post partum and still working out the nights together and exclusively breastfeeding? He’s leaving at 10.45 and probs won’t be back until 3ish I’m not sure maybe even longer. He normally does the first half of the night I don’t think I’m gonna get much sleep tonight as he will most likely end up falling asleep when he gets in rather than helping out.

The cool free stuff lol

Hey, do you mind having any recommendations on websites to apply for free stuff for me and the baby even though I’m seven weeks or any cool cheap subscriptions you all could recommend🫶🏾?

Diaper change at night

How’s everyone fitting in diaper changes with nighttime feeds? At first I would change him and then he’d eat, but then I switched to feeding him on one breast changing him and then feeding him on the other breast. He gets hiccups occasionally, so I worry that laying him down in between breast isn’t the best option & wondering if I should go back to changing him before he eats??

Am I overthinking?

I’m a first-time mum and could really use some advice.

My mother-in-law has kindly offered to help with the baby for a few hours so I can get a few things done for myself, which I’m incredibly grateful for.

The first time she looked after her, I came home after a couple of hours and noticed no nappies had been changed. My baby was sitting in a wet nappy. I gently asked if she’d needed changing, and my mother-in-law tapped the front of her vest and said she felt dry. I carefully explained that you need to physically check the nappy because the blue line appears when she’s had a wee, and that you’ll definitely know when she’s done a poo.

Today, she watched the baby while my husband and I ate dinner. As soon as I’d finished, I went to take over and found my baby had a very full poo nappy that hadn’t been changed.

My mother-in-law is looking after her again later this week, and I’m not sure how to approach the situation. I don’t want to upset her because she’s being so kind and is in her 70s, and I also don’t want to put too much on her. At the same time, I don’t want my baby left sitting in a wet or dirty nappy.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How would you handle this kindly without offending her?
