Anyone else feel like their belly skin is literally on fire? 😭

I’m 33 weeks pregnant with my second baby and I am STRUGGLING.

I am so much bigger this pregnancy than I was with my first. My belly is absolutely exploding with stretch marks and the itching is unreal. I feel like I’ve scratched away all the skin I have left. I’m moisturizing constantly and nothing seems to help.

But now there’s something else that’s worrying me. For a couple of weeks after my C-section with my first, I remember the area above my incision feeling like it was burning. My skin hurt to touch and I was told it was related to the muscles/healing process.

The last little while I’ve started feeling something very similar again, except I’m still pregnant. The skin on my lower abdomen, above my old C-section scar, feels numb but also burns at the same time. It’s hard to explain. The closest thing I can compare it to is what I imagine frostbite would feel like. It’s constant and becoming almost unbearable.

Has anyone else experienced this during pregnancy, especially after a previous C-section? Is it nerve pain? Stretching? Scar tissue?

I honestly feel sad because mentally I don’t feel ā€œdoneā€ with this pregnancy yet, but physically I want out of my own skin. Between the itching and this burning sensation, I feel like I’m going crazy.

Would love to hear if anyone else has gone through this. ā¤ļø

Hey love, your skin sounds dry, tight, and inflammed. I don't how far along your babies are or how far pp you got pregnant but, that does play a role with how your body reacts and changed from pregnancy the first time. Do you exfoliate at all? If you dry brush it, it'll get rid of the the dead skin underneath and your skin will be way less itchy or stressed out. Helps your stretch marks too along with the c section scar area. If you moisturize with Palmers coco butter then put bio oil on top, it'll sooth your skin and help smoothen out any impurities or inflamation in your skin. I think it's from your muscles stretching out and your bones separating as they make room for the baby. My second baby did change my skin and made me swell also. I feel your pain on this one.

Can’t stop falling asleep

I keep on falling asleep with my baby in my arms while feeding. He’s only a month old and I share a bed with my partner and loads of pillows. Bed sharing seems the obvious solution but I thrash in my sleep. Today I woke up to my baby in my arms and realised I had them there for maybe an hour. So scary! He’s slipped before in my arms and luckily I woke up to move him . My partner says I NEED to change this as it’s only a matter of time before something terrible happens and I agree.

I have talked to Midwives at my appointments and their advice does not help. I just blank out. What should I do?

My daughter won’t let me change her nappy

She’s almost 2 and it’s only at the house, when we’re out she lets me take her the changing room fine but at home she gets so angry and thrashes around. Shes started to wriggle away from me mid šŸ’© change and then sits on the floor so it goes everywhere. I feel like I’ve tried absolutely everything. I’ve tried changing her exclusively on the changing table so she gets the message that it’s time for a clean nappy. I’ve tried keeping it casual and just popping her down on the floor or on the sofa. I let her hold toys, give her a wipe. We’ve tried pull up and she’s does exactly the same but just stood up.

I’ve even tried introducing a potty but she just doesn’t get it yet at all.

I can’t work it out why she hates it so much. She’s definitely not in any pain or discomfort. I’m praying this is just a phase. Help please šŸ™

Napping routine at 15 weeks?

Hey everyone, my baby is now 15 weeks. Interested to know where everyone else is at re naps and routines? My baby is fairly good at going to sleep at night - we have a loose routine that seems to be working well. However during the day it’s still a bit unstructured - he does a lot of contact napping and uses the boob to get to sleep. Starting to think about trying a slightly more fixed routine, so interested to know if anyone is already doing this, to get a sense as to whether or not 15 weeks is too early etc. Thanks all!

How do you stay sane?

At home with a 12 week old and will be alone with her now that husband going back to work. Idk if I can do it alone and I’m worried I’ll go crazy just doing baby stuff constantly. 🄺

When did your baby first start crawling?

I’m a first time mum, don’t get me wrong, understand that all babies are different, but I would just like some reassurance.
My baby is 8 months old, we’ve had no interest in crawling, pulling self up, walking along furniture or going from tummy to sitting or vice versa.
I’m in a group with other babies the same age, and everyone’s babies seem to be doing all these things…
I wasn’t worried until I read what other babies were doing at this age, and it seems like a lot compared to what my baba can do.
I just don’t want to fail her. Please let me know if your baby was ā€œlateā€ or took a while to reach milestones.
Thanks in advance xx

How often does your baby cry?

I know babies cry but I don’t know what’s a normal amount. My first LG cried 24/7 with colic and this time round my LG cries a few hours a day. I don’t know what’s wrong with her if she’s fed, changed, burped and slept she will sometimes be really upset and then randomly other times she will be really settled.
She had her tongue tie done a week ago as I thought she was previously struggling with trapped gas (it has improved loads), but I don’t know if there is something else I’m missing or if this is just normal for babies not to be content when they’re awake?
