As a parent, you should look for and work the job that works around your child’s schedule and not the other way around.
Also I’m not posting this to fight. I’m just curious what other moms think. I’m a mom of two small kids and I’m struggling to find a job that doesn’t require my kids to be in daycare the whole day.

Some people have dream jobs! And others make a lot of money that they wouldn’t otherwise make if they did that.

I love my job. My life does not revolve around my kids.

I think it depends on the mom... I worked in administration of a home health care company before I got pregnant. I loved my job, got pregnant had my baby... couldn't imagine not being around him all the time... i quit my job, took a massive pay decrease to work at his daycare and that's where I've stayed for 4 1/2 years now.
But there are also alot of women who are both happy and fulfilled with their jobs and spending that time away from home life and kid life to be themselves too. And then they come home and they're mommy

Definitely depends how career driven you are, for me my life does revolve around my kids. The job I was in before my second was born I didn’t love anymore but it allowed me to work from home a lot and be flexible for my toddler so I said I’d stay in it for as long as it worked and I can’t see it working for me after my second mat leave is over. I can’t see myself ever not working because it does matter to me, so me and my partner are currently looking at ways for me to be self employed.
Some people want a career and some just a job that pays! I’m happy to put my big corporate career on the back burner for now but I can equally understand why a lot of mothers wouldn’t, it takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice especially as a woman, to climb the ladder.
I think we are sold a bit of a lie as women that “you can have it all” because we can’t, something’s got to give.

It’s nice in theory lol. But finding a job that is 100% conducive to a child’s schedule is not easy. And some people love what they do and don’t want to and that’s perfectly fine too.

I mean, the vast majority of people have jobs before they have kids. I guess it depends somewhat on if it’s a job vs a career, but how many jobs really fit into a child’s schedule? This is honestly just a strange question to me.

No I don’t agree. I think it depends on what works best for each family.

It depends I was very work driven before kids worked my way to the top one of the reasons I had kids later, then struggled 😅 however as soon as I had my first I knew I didn’t want that job anymore I loved being a mum that was my priority then I got pregnant again so it was definite I was quitting.
Now I have no idea what I want to do I might do freelance accountant then I know I can work around my girls.
