My 7 month old contact naps. I love a contact nap and would quite happily do them until she decides otherwise however, I am going back to work when she is 11 months. I’ve tried putting her down occasionally but every time has ended with tears.
Do I just carry on contact napping until I go back to work and then just randomly stop, slowly wean off contact napping (how to go about this and when it a good time to start?) or just persevere with putting her down every nap until she gets used to it?

Keep contact napping if it works for you! My son started nursery at 11 months we only ever contact napped and co-slept and did once I went back to work when together and he went down absolutely fine at nursery. They sleep so differently for other people x

I’d carry on. My first contact napped until she was 1 year old, then decided she was done with it. I went back to work as well, so it worked out. First few days she’d skip a nap, then have a long one after cause she was tired. She got the hang of sleeping off me quickly. She was with my MIL, then nursery, never wanted more than pats on her back to help her sleep.

Just keep doing them! I did - and still do - contact naps where possible as I absolutely love them and gives us a chance to connect, especially after a busy week at work. He goes down absolutely fine at nursery and with his nan who has him sometimes x

I contact napped for 12 months then when he went to nursery it just naturally stopped and now he likes a bum pat to sleep and sometimes an occasional contact nap! Id soak them all up while you can 😊

Contact napped until 2, went to nursery at 11.5 months and she went down in a cot/on a mat there.
