Hi!
Any mums out there that have been through either an induction or c section fancy sharing there experience and reasoning behind why they chose one or the other?
I’m currently 31 weeks and have been advised that I will likely need to deliver between 38 and 39 due to a couple of complications. It’s a little way off yet but I really can’t decide what route I’d rather go down.
I know a lot of inductions end in a C Section anyway, so I was leaning towards a C Section but the recovery time with being a FTM scare me a little bit, I also know I will likely want more children in the future and not sure how this would impact anything?
I also want to experience a vaginal birth.
Has anyone got any positive induction or C section stories they would be happy to share? Thank you 🥰

Following this! I’ve been told I’ll likely have to deliver early - any time from 32 weeks onwards depending on how well my placenta keeps working 😫🤞🏼I’m really against inductions from what I’ve hear from my friends and most of them have ended up with emergency csections which has been a traumatic experience.
My other friend gave birth the other week because she was advised either induction or csection, so she chose section & said it was the best experience she’s had. So clam, organised and she felt safe. She said the week after a csection is sore and she needed lots of support from her partner during this time but that she would opt for a csection again happily.
I’m so torn because I desperately want a vagina birth but I feel nowadays most just end up in emergency sections anyway and with inductions they tend to be extremely painful & drawn out 🫣😫
I think I’m leaning more towards a secrion if I have to choose! Will be really interesting to hear other people’s stories!!

It’s not “positive” as such but I had an induction which did end in an emergency c section, however I just wanted to say the recovery isn’t all that bad! Yes it’s different for everybody, but as long as you give yourself time to rest along with equal walking and moving, along with belly bands and wound care, you recover quickly! My partner was so so supportive and that helped massively so having someone you can trust it makes it so much easier, from helping me shower to changing my own nappies🤣 I was up walking and slinging baby before I knew it!
I had my c section Nov 2024 and having an elective in September with baby #2☺️ the c section itself was the calmest experience out of the entire induction, the teams are amazing and so calming.

I’m waiting for my next scan at 32w to see what they recommend for me. But I decided that if there’s a risk that I’ll end up with an emergency c section, I’ll book an elective one. During my first delivery I had to wait half an hour till someone was available to give me the thigh injection (I was in SO much pain) so it terrifies me that I’d have to wait if I had an emergency C section, also as far as I know, September is the busiest month on the maternity ward.
Even if you have a c section now, you can still delivery vaginally in the future (I believe provided that you wait enough between deliveries, I think it’s a year and a half? But speak to your midwife!) xx

I've had both.
1st baby - Induction at 37+6 due to premature rupture of waters. Had quite a positive experience, was attached to drip and he was born naturally within 24 hours. Didn't think it was too painful, only annoying thing was being attached to monitors so I didn't get the birthing pool experience I wanted.
2nd baby - Went into labour naturally but due to baby positioning ended up with emergency section and tbh the pain in those few hours prior to birth was worse than what I'd experienced first time round. The section itself was fine, despite being emergency I didn't feel like the team around me weren't calm. I really struggled from a recovery perspective.
Baby 3 - was given option of either VBAC or another section despite me thinking it was going to have to be section and I've opted for natural again. Even if it ends in a section I'd rather have tried because I hated the recovery stages and will be even more problematic with 2 kids on top.
