Birthday is coming soon. What are some toys or gifts that you do think were worth it at this age?

Balance bike. If not walking yet, a push cart (like target cart or wooden one). Water table or even just the play sink with working sink. Blue track. Building cushion couch (like nugget but knock off is the same in my opinion)

A ball run or car run. My 5 year old still plays with his, but the play has gotten more creative over the years.

Cars, blocks, play table (if you have room as they can be big, especially if they have storage under). My son also loved the bubble lawn mower

What do you think about giving the unemployed 30 hours free childcare?

I'm personally annoyed at this. If they are unemployed, at home, claiming benefits then they can look after their own children.
My husband and I work our arses off, paying taxes and others can just sit at home and get everything given on a plate! Paid by me, us working people! What are your thoughts?

If your toddler (3 years old) pulled down an entire dresser & everything ontop of it what’s your reaction?

their fathers dresser, not even their own.

Unexpected cost I can't get out of

Sibling is getting married in Japan.

I have 2 kids. For me and my partner flights have already cost about £3000.

By time I add on hotels that another £1500.

I haven't even factored in spending money and food out there.

I'm pregnant and will be in maternity leave during this period.
So this is just going to make finances even tighter.

What would you do?

What should I expect her to eat??

With finger foods what am I actually expecting my 7.5month old to eat? We started with purées at 6 months and I am transitioning to BLW but she doesn’t actually eat the finger foods.
She has tried a few things and she is happy to put them in her mouth and occasionally suck it but not chew and swallow. If she does bite a bit off, she moves it around her mouth a little and then spits it out. Is this ok for this age? Do I just carry on offering it until she gets the hang of chewing?

She has tried toast, broccoli, omelette strips & penne pasta

Where are all the kids hiding nowadays?

I have memories at 8 years old of playing and riding my bike around the neighbourgood, going to the park or swimming every chance I got, feeling safe and having a funnnnn childhood.

It feels like alot of kids nowerdays are couped up in the house. Watching the TV.

Maybe it's just the area I live in now. But where the hell are the kids at. Lol

How often do you take your child out to the park, swimming, bike rides etc

I barely see this now in the UK

Nursery presents

I have a 3 yr old and 1 year oldm both go to the same private nursery. There are around 6 + staff working in each room and I know they sometimes swap rooms due to ratios.

Thry work with more than their kwyworkers who have changed through the year(s) . So about 20 staff

What can I get as a thank you present (eldest is leaving)? I don't want to buy tat as I know it will get binned and not be appreciated unless it's really nice

I can't afford a bottle of wine each or a decent voucher cos that would be like £100+
