So my friend is pregnant with her 3rd child. She’s on benefits which I have no problem with but it means they’re gonna get moved into a different house cos they’re in a 2 bed while there’s 4 of them there already.
But what annoys me is she’s saying she can afford getting this baby brand new everything, (bed, buggy, prep machine, ect) which just grinds my gears a little as my partner works while I watch our kids (3 and not quite 1) and if we were to have a 3rd we’d not be able to afford new. We couldn’t even afford brand new everything with our first! And we both worked at that point!
Just annoying how someone living off of the government get so much more then people who want to go back to work, but can’t as don’t have the means to!

Comparison is the thief of joy.
Benefit entitlement isn’t particularly high if she’s solely reliant on benefits. You’re always better off in work, maybe she uses credit to buy things. And if she’s saying she’s being rehoused, this will probably take a very long time. People on housing lists for overcrowding aren’t exactly a high priority for local authorities or housing associations.
