Expressed or supplemental bottle experiences

Hello! For those of you giving one or two bottles to your baby a day - what time are you giving them and why? What has your experience of replacing a breastfeed with a bottle been? Thinking of doing this but would really appreciate some real life experiences to draw from!

My baby had a slow weight gain so we are asked to supplement with formula after every feed. The only pro for that is anybody can feed the baby and mum can take a break. Now my LO is 8 weeks old and we dont supplement anymore like that.. i do give her a bottle once a day with either expressed milk or formula when but thats also top up and not a full feed. I give her bottle so she stays used to it and doesnt reject it later on

I expressed milk since day 3 (struggled to latch), and I still express now once a day (7 weeks).
He had mostly expressed milk up to week 3, a mix up to week 6 and we are now exclusively breastfed.

When I was supplementing with a bottle (so between 3 and 6 week), I used to give one in the morning (10am) and one before bedtime (10pm ish).

Especially on hot days, it gave me a little peace of mind that he was getting at least 2 big feeds in a day! I also felt like a bottle before bedtime help to have a little longer first stretch of sleep 😊

I had to pump due to jaundice. Basically I was told to top up with formula. So whenever he had formula, I would pump to simulate the feed (this is really important). I decided to give the expressed milk during the night feeds so that I was sure of how much he had because he would be sleepy and fall asleep on the breast and he was impossible to rouse to drink more. Eventually I was pumping enough that I didny need formula and then suddenly I started having an excess I could put in the freezer. It was at that stage, around 3 months old, I dropped the pumping and have just ebf since. Now im back at work, I pump at work and take it home for the next day whilst im at work

Taking one for the team

Our little is sick, it’s been a rough evening. My husband told me to go ahead and sleep in our bed, he’d stay with our kiddo to help him feel more at ease. (Yes, we have a reclining nursery chair, he prefers our floor cushion) Our son being sick is unusual but, my husband taking one for the team is not.

Spit ups

At this point I am convinced that when they made the word happy spitter they made it for my son…when I say he spits a lot I literally mean his clothes and mine getting socked up…he doesn’t seem bothered by it but I am because I think it’s too much during feed or after even after being burped…he is 9 weeks now and I told my ped about it and she said it’s normal nothing to worry about as long as he is gaining well which he is…she claims he eats too quick and he is greedy with food and maybe over feeding which I thought wasn’t possible on exclusively breastfed babies…

I really need some help I feel like I am losing it because it’s just too much at this point

Best Cup for 1 year old transition to Milk

My LO is now 1 years old and she's still drinking her formula from X teat MAM bottle.

I've read that we now need to start putting her formula into an open free flow cup but I'm struggling to find one that is big enough for her feed (240ml) and that isn't too big for her to hold (she has little hands)

Can you recommend the best cup for this process please? - I've seen a munchkin 360 one and a B.Box training cup free flow.

Also any tips on transitioning from formula to milk. She's dairy intolerant so I have Alpro Soy Growing Up milk which is fortified with all the nutrition of milk.

Milk expectations

Calling all mamas with 10+ mo's,

I know milk is the prime source of nutrition in the first year but what does that l look like by 9/10 months? Mine is 7months and on 3 meals a day and my milk supply/his feeding has already dropped. Im following his lead but Im curious as to what it looks like only because he will start nursery in September... do I need to pump for nursery (10mo)?? The teachers seemed to think it was a non issue when I went to the open days suggesting he'd need barly anything by that age
Im EBF
What were yours having at that age?

She’s here and up all night!!!

Had my little girl by planned section today! She is adorable but oh my gosh she is stage 5 Clingon 🤣 she constantly wants to be held… the nurse said it’s normal for second children to want to be closer fed/held on the first night instead of the usual second night people hear about. We will see if this theory holds up….

In the meantime I’m just enjoying the snuggles 🩷🩷🩷
