Hey mamas! I had my first baby last October by C-Section after getting induced, starting labor, and him still not dropping 24 hours later. I’d like advice based on y’all’s experiences, so I can make a solid decision. That being said, I know I’d like to have a second baby and I do not plan on getting induced again. What I would like to do personally, because I think it would be safest for my body and my next baby, is to schedule another c-section. The only reason I’m scared of doing this is in case I go into labor before the scheduled c-section, what do I do in that case? Can they still just do my scheduled c-section early? Should I try and have it natural again if labor does come early? I just had a lot of things happen with my last labor that I don’t want for my next baby or myself. They also had trouble keeping his heart rate on the belly monitor because he was moving so much, so THREE different times they screwed screws into my baby’s head to monitor his heart rate(which he still has scars from) which I was not aware was the case. Anyways, I’m sorry for the long post, but would appreciate hearing y’all’s point of view and advice.
Thanks, lots of love💕

Yes, you should be able to request an unplanned c section as soon as you go into labour if you do before the due date. I want a planned c section so I confirmed this is an option (UK hospital)

I'm in the US and my OB has said it's the same. If I go into labor early, I can just come into the hospital and they will prep me for the c-section then.

I had an emergency c-section Oct 2023, I am due Oct 2026 and we are going to schedule a c-section. I feel like too many things went wrong in labour. So I would hate to try for a vbac and it end up in a c-section again. I know what to expect with recovery, and it should be better this time since I won’t be awake for 30+ hours in labour before. I just hope I don’t go into labour before the date.

If you have a second baby, make sure your current baby is over a year old so, it doesnt effect your scar's healing. Csections happen because your body isn't healthy enough to make it to full term and have the baby naturally, which is why complications happen. Health risks have to be taken into consideration including your medical history. I would get a c section only to avoid any delays, no complications during labor, and you can still have a healthy baby at the end.
