Midwife home visit before birth

Anyone had a home visit or expecting one?

I never had one with my first baby, I’ve moved district since having her and had a call this time that a midwife was coming to visit and I have no clue what to expect 🥴😂

I’ve had 2 one for the midwife who will be coming after baby is here and one to check the house. The first midwife only wanted to talk to me through SIDS and breastfeeding and gave me loads of leaflets etc and only wanted to see where baby will be sleeping so our room in the next to me (not under a window or next to a radiator). The next was kind of the same and she checked the house for fire alarms smoke detector make sure there was no electrical wires out and make sure there was no animal faeces anywhere then wanted to also see where baby was sleeping and then the nursery also checked we had a bathroom so baby could be washed etc and also make sure our garden was fully fenced in and she had a list of a book she had to tick off

Induced, emergency c section, accurate scan weight

So I'm finally announcing my son's arrival.
Born 8th July after being admitted to hospital for an induction. Being induced at 39 weeks, waiting for days to go on the ward for my waters to be broken which ended in an emergency c section. My scans all showed baby plotting above 99 percentile and they were right as he was 9lbs 13oz. Baby pooped inside which was noted when my waters were broken and he developed a temp and his respiratory rate was elevated so we ended up staying a few days after too. Ended up coming home on his due date 11th July! Just posting on here if anyone wants any further information.
Also trying my hardest to breastfeed this time so any tips please send them my way.

Thoughts on our baby name🙏🏻

We love the name Roscoe, I first put it to my partner when we originally found out we were having a baby. I have loved the name for years from the song Roscoe by Midlake which is where I originally heard it. The song itself is so lovely, and having looked up its meaning, his name means ‘roe deer’ or ‘forest’ of an old Norse definition. Recently since telling a few friends and family we have had nothing but backlash which has now made me reconsider. People saying it’s a dogs name, although our dog is called Henry😆 and just generally disliking the name. Just wondering what people’s thoughts on the name are.

Positive elective C section stories please.

Bit of background.
I had an tramatic emergency c section with my 1st (under general) resulting in a weeks stay in hospital.

Now..37wk with GD and they have brought me forward to deliver via elective next week due to him measuring over 8lb allready!

Can’t help but worry due to what me and baby went through with my 1st and also worried staying in hospital for a long time due to having a 3yr old at home.

So any positive stories to try put my mind at rest would be great!
Thanks x

Anyone out the other side??

We've had horrendous sleep for a good few weeks now, as in hourly wake ups and 4/5am starts to the day. I am EXHAUSTED - someone tell me it gets better 😅
