Has anyone taken their newborn to a chiropractor? I have heard they can be very beneficial. Just would like peoples opinion!

Do not do this! Chiropractors are not real doctors and they do not practice real medicine. If you think your baby needs help with their body, take them to a physical therapist.

I took both my children to a newborn chiropractor! It was very beneficial in my opinion. My son(firstborn) took 1.5 hours to push out and needed more adjustment in his spine (chiro uses very gently pressure to help move everything into place). I saw a huge difference in his digestion, less trapped gas and less spit ups. He always pooped during his sessions and the look of relief on his face was worth it. Same with my daughter. Regardless of vaginal or c section, I would recommend it. It’s not a necessity, but I feel like it really helped them with digestion

My kids and I frequently go. Since they were 6 weeks old. It helped with breastfeeding positions, bowel movements, and sleep patterns. They are not medical doctors but are doctors of chiropractic which diagnose and treat neuromuscular disorders

I wouldn’t, the chiropractic industry as Rachel kinda touched on isn’t regulated like real doctors, there’s a lot of pseudoscience that’s been integrated into it from its inception, granted I myself have gone to the chiro when I was really suffering from a slipped disc but I wouldn’t risk doing so with a child especially if they’re not showing any signs of discomfort, and if they are, 100% they should see a physical therapist or pediatrician first

Following up to say this: nothing chiropractors do is evidence-based. Chiropractic was created by a man who believed that a GHOST told him about it. It is not real medicine, and can be incredibly dangerous, especially for a baby who has a soft underdeveloped spine. Even if the chiropractor is doing "gentle manipulations," it is absolutely not worth the risk. If your baby is having problems with colic, gas, constipation, torticollis, etc., take them to a REAL doctor.

I can agree with some of these other posts-always do research and proceed with caution! We had a good experience but that doesn’t mean other will

Never ever ever. At best they can do some pseudoscience and placebo effects. At worst they can seriously harm your baby. They are not medical doctors

Just my opinion but most medical doctors and procedures we know dont really have good backgrounds. Especially women's medicines but thats a topic for another day do your research and make the best decision for you and your family
