Need Help!

Hi, I’m a FTM to a 4 week old baby boy. I’m concerned about my baby during evening feeds. In the morning and afternoon he usually only needs 1–2 burps, but in the evening he gets trapped burps after almost every 2–3 sips. He starts gulping the milk quickly, arches his back, breathes fast, cries, and won’t continue feeding until the burp comes out. Milk also leaks from the corners of his mouth while he’s drinking and once he burps, he settles and starts feeding again, but the same thing keeps happening throughout the feed for about 8-10 times in one feed. Does anyone know what might be causing this or has anyone experienced something similar?

Sounds like colic. Try infacol or dentinox. Life savers for me! What feeding bottle do you use? Anti-colic ones with the vent in are very good.
Either that Or he’s suffering from reflux (i think my boy had both). Both symptoms are similar

What advice would you give yourself?

I’m a first time mum to a nearly 6.5 month old and I’ll admit I’ve struggled quite a bit with postpartum mental health issues I’ve been referred through mental health services and at one of my recent appointments we finished the session with her asking me to reflect on what I would tell myself freshly postpartum knowing what I know now and it got me thinking just how far we’ve actually come in this time.

So I thought I would share the question. If you could go back to your freshly postpartum self what advice would you give her? I think I’d say to slow down because it goes by so quickly and to just give myself grace because you’re actually doing an amazing job (even if it doesn’t always feel like it)

Im losing my patience

My 16 month old is honestly driving me absolutely up the wall...

She doesnt listen to be which causes me to raise my voice.

Little context she is a little madam we have already introduced the naughty corner so for any unacceptabke behaviour like hitting or biting she gets put there for a minute will then get to her level and explain we need to use kind hand ect

But she seems to be grabbing everything she knows she isnt aloud even if its up high she will find a way to get to it I redirect her saying no thank you we are not aloud to do that but she will then continue to do the exact same thing over and over until I in the verge losing my shit at her.

My partner is no help at all when it comes to disciplining behaviour. Even after multiple conversations asking him if she does something that isnt aloud you must redirect her and tell her why she cant have it.

Im trying to stay calm when telling her off as well and trying to regulate myself as well and breaking cycles from how I was brought up .

Can I please have some advice from mumma that are also trying to break cycles 💔

How long is it ok to let babies cry?

If baby is not hungry, his diaper is clean and dry, he looks comfortable on his back just laying down. Sure I know he could be fussy but have been giving gripe water and of course burping. He just does not want to be put down and if he does he won’t chill for longer than 15 or so. Aahhh 😅

Am I weird?

I have a 2 year old daughter and she has an afro. When it comes to hair wash day, she gets in the bath & I get in with her (i wear a vest and underwear.) The reason I do this is because it takes a LOOOONG time to condition and comb her hair & due to my bad back I cant lean/bend for a long time.

Anyway, my MIL said that it was weird to bathe with my daughter? Now i'm thinking surely shes not right???

When to stop rear facing?

Car rear facing mirror gets kicked down every single car ride now from my long legged almost 2 year old! His legs are pretty bunched up i guess....
I'd like to keep him rear facing though? Who else loses their mirror every journey!

Does anyone have a car wash toy that goes into the bathtub

I see a really cool fun one highly rated on Amazon Canada for about 60 bucks or more but Idk if it can go in the bathtub

Trying to look for new things for the bathtub cuz my son is pretty bored

Maybe I can put this on a table in the tub for him
