Hi everyone,
My baby girl has turned one month old today and in the last few weeks she has been very gassy. We started infacol before every feed and it seems that after she has had a big poo, she settles more.
However in the last few days she has been making herself overtired. It doesn’t matter what I try during the day, she just won’t settle down for a nap unless on me and most of the time, even on my chest, she is just so exausted that she won’t settle.
Today I managed to get her to sleep a bit better during the day but then from around 7ish this evening, up until 11, she was just not calming down. We tried rocking, lowering lights and stimulation, bath, feeding, she just wouldn’t settle.
Anyone else going through this or has any tips? Is this due to a growth spur or?

The Witching Hour is normal at this age. All my kids went through it to some degree. I often end up trying a combo of distract / nurse-to-sleep to get through it. With my oldest, I used to do dance parties to keep the mood up. With my 3rd we'd take evening showers together.

It all sounds very normal but doesn’t make it any easier. My first used to calm down from witching hour with a walk outside in the sling. Also very normal for lots of contact naps at this age!

I feel you so much, my little boy is 4 months now and still occasionally cries from gas pain. Honestly just try absolutely anything that makes them relax. Could be a warm bath, a walk in a sling/the pram just so the distractions all around them take their mind off the gas pain for a minute. As soon as those farts are out my little boy is a changed baby!
Once you’ve managed to get just a bit of relaxation from them and they no longer fight you with kicks, try placing on back, tummy massage for 20 seconds and then do lotus legs and lift the sacrum gently. It gives them something to bear down on to fart more easily! Trust me I’ve tried everything 🤣
