Definitely hard to make friends
I got stood up… we made plans to hang out at the pool no call no show no contact, I reach out no response so odd to me .. now I see why people say it’s hard to make friends or people just ghost you .. this is my first time pregnant my husband away in the military I’m not from California all my family is home so I’m actually going through a lonely moment, I will be 100% vulnerable . where I’m from I see brown skin a lot , I’m in Oceanside I see my skin color not so often and I don’t feel like I fit in so much , always feel like I’m odd when I walk outside I’m very confident, just loneliness is kicking in due to pregnancy
(Purpose of post is to meet people that are serious to meet)
Lonely Mom
I’m posting anonymously because I’m embarrassed to admit this, but I feel really lonely.
Last year we moved across the country, and I still haven’t found “my people.” I’m a teacher, so during the summer I go days without really talking to other adults. It gets isolating.
My husband and I love each other, but lately it feels like we’re more like roommates than partners. Most evenings he goes to the basement to play video games and drink beer while I’m upstairs. We don’t spend much time together anymore, and I miss feeling connected.
Somewhere along the way, I feel like I’ve lost myself. I used to have hobbies, friends, and things that made me feel like me. Now I feel like I’m just going through the motions—taking care of everyone else while feeling invisible.
Has anyone else gone through something like this? How did you find yourself again? How did you make friends as an adult, especially after moving somewhere new? And if your marriage went through a “roommate phase,” what helped?
I don’t necessarily need all the answers. I just want to know I’m not the only one who feels this way
