Unfortunately, all birth control has side effects!! With the injection, it can make you put on weight. I've never used the implant but loads of people I know swear by it.

Personally I say the non hormonal coil (as it’s non hormonal and doesn’t impact your hormone levels etc) or his penis his problem 😂🤷🏼‍♀️🙃 contraception doesn’t directly cause cancer otherwise they wouldn’t be allowed to prescribe it (you’d hope) but when you are messing with your fertility system so to speak, there is always the increase in risk. The pill can take up to 6 months to fully return to normal, the injection is 18 months, the implant is pretty much back to normal after a month. They all impact fertility, that’s the point in a way but the after effects of each method will be different for everyone and not just based on the contraception itself! Out of the 4 I’d say the implant as it’s the most effective and you don’t have to think about it for 3-4 years x

I’ve had the implant for about 5 months now, besides the odd spotting I’ve had no major side effects! X

I accidentally hit the wrong option- I’m quite against hormonal birth control as I’ve always had terrible side effects from them… the implant was the worst, I bled for more than 6months straight, so much so that I had to eventually have a blood transfusion because I became severely anaemic and only after that would they take the stupid thing out of my arm.
Form of (hormonal) bith control that gave me the least amount of side effects was the patch but I always worried about the effectiveness- I never fell pregnant while on it so it must have worked

Both the pill and the injection come with a slightly increased chance of certain cancers. Yeh all hormonal contraceptives can cause cancer. There is many links to breast cancers. Which is why I chose the copper coil.

Natural family planning. Buy ovulation tests and track your ovulation and abstain from sex in the days leading up and after.

I had the arm implant in the 4 times so for 12years. First year never had any issues, 2nd year the odd spotting, 3rd year I had a period every 3 months which lasted the entire month. It was managable ut wore me put alot. So once my final year was up on my 4th implant I changed to the pill. I then came off that in June 2023 and fell pregnant with my daughter Jully/August 2023.

I would say I did prefer the arm implant as it was there for 3 years and I didn't have to worry about taking anything as I am always forgetting to take my pill.

They have a FDA approved hormone free IUD . Called Paragard it’s made of cooper not plastic

I chose the copper coil and it didn't work and I'm 31 weeks pregnant lol

had it injected in November and its 3month so finished in March. Waited til June to try for baby. In July got pregnant. It just depends how fast eggs return and your health. I honestly thought it would take a year for my eggs to return 🫣

Now got 4month old baby. Feel so blessed 🥹
