Going on ten years now of not a solid night of sleep. I hate being the default parent. The only one that seems to keep things running on an empty engine 24/7-365. Is it just my partner or is it men in general. I mean he is even clueless to if we need trash bags when he puts the last one in. We have 5 kids and really i would just love to sleep past 6:30 am one flicking morning but nope he lets the kids wake him up then he lays there until i get up an he will go sleep in a whole different room to avoid getting up before 11.

Yeah thats pretty much my hubby. Hes always like "just ask me for help" but then i do and he half asses it or gets cranky or doesnt do it right ugh but currently im super sick so im forcing him to help. Maybe just have a stern talk with him and dont phrase it like a question or anything just be like you get up with the kids at least one day a week so i can sleep.

Hey we

Yes I’m the default parent but my husband takes initiative and still helps me. Since I’m still on maternity leave I take the night feeds so he can rest but when I’m feeling exhausted I tell him (not ask!!) to take over and he does. Remember, your rest is just as important as anyone else in that household. He can pout all he wants but he needs to understand you’re doing a lot for him and your family and you NEED to rest. It’s not negotiable
