My 7 week old sleeps in her bassinet at night and doesn’t seem to mind being put down after being nursed to sleep.
Daytime naps are a different story - she kicks off as soon as she’s put down even if rocked to sleep first.
If she’s overtired from the day, she turns into a gremlin around 6pm and cries for hours so I’m desperately trying to keep her on a good nap schedule in the day.
But the only way I can get her to nap is in the carrier and my back is killing me. She won’t even let me just hold her for a nap - she’ll let others rock her to sleep, but for me it has to be the carrier (not sure if she gets distracted by wanting milk when I hold her and needs the motion of being walked around in the carrier?).
Anyone got any tips to try to get her napping more practically in the day before my spine gives out? (Also having some postpartum issues with grade 2 prolapse so ideally wouldn’t be carrying 6kg of baby around all day).

We’re in the same boat of baby only wanting to nap on us, he doesn’t like us to sit down.
It sounds absurd but I’ve started gently closing his eyes for him when he’s fighting his sleep. I just lightly stroke my palm down his forehead and over his eyes and a lot of the time he keeps them closed. It doesn’t help the only sleeping on me issue, but it does help him fighting his sleep.
He also is soothed by a white noise machine (one came with our next to me) and if we do ever get him down for a nap, this sometimes soothes him back to sleep if he wakes up
Would love tips to actually get him to go down myself though 😂

Will they fall asleep in the pram? We’ve just got a Rockit to see if it’ll keep her sleeping longer in it!

If your carriers hurting your back then it sounds like you could do with some tweaking to the straps or a new carrier entirely depending on which one you’ve got, you should be able to carry a toddler/young child with no back pain x

I second looking into a different carrier if you can! I bought a new one recently as never got on with the one we had for my eldest and I’ve got no back pain now with this one. I went into a John Lewis to try a load on and then ordered cheaper elsewhere! 😬
It’s the only thing working for me for day naps.

This isn’t advice at all but I read it’s because their sleep pressure is so low in the day compared to the night that they find comfort with us and that allows them to sleep. We are a strictly contact nap in the day family as he will wake up after 10
Minutes of being put down even though it’s the same routine as the night time, but from 10pm he will sleep in his own bed until around 5-7am. I’m lucky that my partner has his own business so is home all day that baby can be passed back and forth between us if we need to do things. Try and soak it up as there will be a day they don’t even want to hug us, never mind find comfort with us to sleep x
