Ever since I became a mother Nov 2024, I’ve been having this feeling that I wasn’t meant to be a mother and my mother and grandmother second guessing all my decisions when it comes to my daughter doesn’t help ofc. I do what my daughter’s doctor recommends for her and they want to do everything how they did when I was a baby. I try to get them to see that the recommendations changed from when I was a baby and it seems like they think they know what’s best for my baby, more than I do and I’m so over it. I’ve resorted to just letting them raise her and take care of her. I don’t have the energy to care anymore and I’ve been going through depression and it seems like no one cares until I attempt to take my life. My husband is no help either, he doesn’t even seem to care when I cry myself to sleep when he’s right there. I feel like we’re headed right to divorce, which will make my depression even worse. Am I the problem? I don’t even know but I need help!😔 my therapy sessions once a week aren’t doing enough.

You are NOT the problem! Your mom
And grandma need to respect
Your boundaries this is YOUR child. And your husband needs to step up! ❤️❤️

Oh no. You’re doing the right thing. Do what YOU feel is best for your baby. Not what others think. Do not let others (even family / loved ones) make you feel like you’re parenting wrong and make you feel like you should question your decisions. I think some healthy boundaries sound like a good next step ❤️ you’re doing great Mama!

I rebuke any schemes the enemy is making against you and your family in Jesus name! I don’t know if you’re a believer but Jesus can give you that peace & hope you’re looking for ❤️

I’m so sorry 😞

You are not the problem! Everyone else sucks here.
You are your baby’s parent! You have legal guardianship and rights. If something happens to your child. You get to call the shots. Your mom and grandma need to back off!
Your husband is a problem too! A partner is suppose to protect his primary family (you and the baby). He is suppose to stand next to you and stay aligned with your values as a couple. The both of you should be presented as a united front! He needs to step up more to meet your needs!
And the thoughts about ending yourself, do you actually have plans to go through with it? Have you thought about how to do it? Or is this more everything feels too much right now and self-erasing feels easier?
What kind of therapist do you have? Maybe it’s time to change a therapist who is more trauma informed, post-partum, and/or family therapist. If you are in my area or you have a good insurance. I can recommend you a doctor who specializes in post-partum. Message me!

You are the best mother for your baby. Full stop. If you love your baby- you are exactly where you are meant to be. I think that you might find some solids and taking your power back- depression is very difficult to deal with especially when being a mother so I don't say that lately but confidence in motherhood comes from practice and being in it- your mother and grandmother are robbing you of that and you're letting them. Take your power back- you are the mother. Your baby wants to be loved and raised by you. And as you are in it and make decisions and watch your baby grow you will start to realize that it is exactly what you're meant to do and it might give you that purpose that you are needing to pull you out of your depression
