Early Scan?

I’m trying to decide on whether or not to book an early scan, it’s my first pregnancy and will be 5wks tomorrow. I’ve had some mild cramping and coloured discharge, according to NHS it’s all normal. I have quite severe anxiety as it is, and this is making me spiral slightly. I’m trying to reassure myself but I don’t know if booking an early scan will help?

So sorry you’re feeling anxious, I hope you’re ok x
I felt the same! However did some reading and we’ve booked one in for the 7 week mark next weekend, I already feel a little nervous for it but i think for me it will ease the anxiety of having to wait for the 12 week one! I can message once I’ve had it if this helps x

Hey hun I had a scan at 7 weeks could hardly see anything you won’t see much at 5 weeks. Cramping is normal it’s your body adapting and uterus making space for the baby. Don’t stress about it girl. I’d say wait a few more weeks and get a reassurance scan 7-8 weeks x

Hey! I’m 5 weeks+5 days, I’m the same as you my anxiety is through the roof! I have booked an early viability scan privately next Saturday as I will be over 6 weeks. Try not to panic too much. I had my booking appointment with my midwife the other day and she was very helpful at answering all my questions and that helped with my anxiety slightly. I asked her if she thought it would be worth booking an early scan and she said if it would put my mind at ease then it’s a good idea x

I had a scan at 5w2 days (thought I was 6w 2 days because I had a miscarriage and got pregnant straight after so no “last period date” to go by)

But saw a healthy gestational sack measuring 5w2days. got another scan on Tuesday where I’ll be 6w 5 days so should see a yolk sack, fetal pole & hopefully heartbeat then!

If you can, to cause less potential stress, I’d wait until at least 6.5 weeks❤️

I had early scan with my first at 9 weeks this time I’m not as I’ve got symptoms and everything seems to be good, it’s good reassurance however anything could happen after so it doesn’t reduce the chances necessarily, as long as symptoms are still there and no severe cramping and bleeding I’m sure you’ll be okay, just keep positive x

2nd section

My first I had a planned section it was great. My 2nd planned section is next week.

Question - did anyone go earlier 2nd time round? Was it a scary experience?

I’m worried go early. I’ve been told I would still get my section but treated as emergency section but I’m just really worried and anxious about that happening.

7 week scan

Hi,
Has anybody had a 7 week scan for reassurance and did you hear a heart beat / would you recommend it? I don’t feel like I can wait another 3 weeks until my first midwife appointment!

Gunky eye - blocked tear duct

Hi all - my baby is now 4wks 5days old and since she was born gets a gunky right eye, they told me it was due to a blocked tear duct and will go eventually. We clean it with boiled water/ cotton wool but wondered if anyone else’s baby gets this and what may have helped?
