Routine or routine less

Ladies, those with 6/7week olds… what are your days currently looking like?

My little boy is 7 weeks on Wed, and every day is different… bar the wake up at 6am and “bed time” at 9pm (he’s asleep long before this but that’s when I take him up to bed with me and get him in his swaddle). He will then sleep for 3/3.30 hours from 9pm onwards, but hourly after that until 6am. We are very much just winging it with daytime naps and he fights them in the afternoon. He’ll often go for 6 hours awake 🥵🫠

Just interested to see what others days look like.

We are 6 weeks on thursday and still not mastered a routine yet apart from mornings wide awake afternoons are for sleeping (was like it from 16 weeks in pregnancy) but feedings and offical bedtimes and offical nap times we havent put into routine yet

6 weeks on Friday - no routine here yet either. Some days feel more structured, but then everything changes (and thats perfectly normal at this age). She'll sleep really well 2 nights, then struggle to go down. One day at a time.

We’ve had a routine since about 3 weeks old .. routines key with twins 😅

2:00 bottle n back to bed
6:09 dad gives bottle and puts them back to bed
9:30 I get up
10:00 bottle then play until tired
(They then sleep until next bottle)
14:00 dad does bottle then play until tired
(They then sleep until next bottle)
18:00 bottle then play until tired
(They then sleep until next bottle)
22:00 bottle then bed

We do bath time every other night before the 10pm bottle

As they started sleeping longer stretches at night we don’t wake them we just adjust the 4 hourly routine to when they decide to wake for a feed in the night but the routine I put above was where we started and now it’s the same just adjusted slightly.

Typically they’re awake anywhere from 30mins-2hrs after the bottle before I get them down for a nap

Mine is 7 weeks today and I'm the same as you with the 6am and 9pm feed. The feeds and sleeps are pretty random in-between though. My baby is never usually awake for more than 2 hours though. 6 hours must be very tiring! Hope you're OK x

Childhood trauma

I had a pretty traumatic childhood, right through until I was living independently at 18.
Since having my first baby 4 months ago I’ve gone no contact with my mum, mainly because I haven’t heard from her so I’ve decided to completely cut ties.
I didn’t really process my childhood until I had my own child and I’m struggling processing it all and all the memories that constantly flood my brain. I can’t understand how two people can have a child and neglect them so badly. Bully them and make them feel awful about themselves. Get blind drunk and put the pressure of looking after young babies on other children.
Anyone else been through something similar? I’ve always brushed it off but now knowing how much I love my child and how I would do anything for their happiness, it’s hit me how little my parents really cared for me and only now it hurts so badly. My husband doesn’t understand and just says I should consider therapy and doesn’t get why I’m suddenly heart broken over a parent who has always been shit to me and nothing has changed. My friends all have good relationships with their parents.

Braxton hicks!

Sharing for awareness - 33 weeks and yesterday I had serious braxton hicks.

My entire belly was going rock hard and this was lasting upto 1 hour at a time. Personally, when my belly is so solid I find it hard to feel any movements inside too. So rang triage… ended up going in - had all mine and babys obs done on CTG. All absolutely fine🙏🏼. Midwife explained to me that braxton hick tightening can last a fairly long time (not always 1-2 minute bursts like i thought it was). Aslong as there is no pain alongside them then it is not generally cause for concern. 🤰🏻

Wasn’t pleasant either way and hoping for less stress and braxton hicks today!

12 month development

Hi guy, wanting some help/advice. I have a 12 month old son. He hasn’t such much yet only dada and up but with no intention/context. He hasn’t clapped/pointed yet. He does understand so much, waves, high fives and shakes hand. Any advice or if someone related to this before? Thank you so much. Worried mom here.

Leaving babies while awake

Looking for some reassurance that others do this and I'm not just an awful mum 😅

Baby is safe in their next to me looking quite content - I am watching on the camera having a bath... but can't bring myself to relax because I feel bad they're awake...
Any other mamas need a little me time?
Obviously any sign of upset and I'd be straight out!

New fears unlocked 🔓

Anyone have any fears of what your kid could do to you?

I'll go first.... My daughter poked me in the eye yesterday, she apparently scratched my eyeball 🫠

She has also spit up in my mouth before.

Brother has explosive pooped on my shirt.

What are some that y'all have dealt with 🫠
