Im a 38 year old first-time mom in the Raytown/Kansas City area looking to find some mom friends and hopefully build a little village. Apparently nowadays, making friends as an adult is way harder than it was in kindergarten 😂

Other than my boyfriend, I don’t really have a support system — my mom is out of state currently on hospice, and I have zero friends. And I mean zero I don't even text back and forth with anybody other than my mom and my boyfriend and sometimes my sister.

I’m hoping to find some genuine friendships — someone to chat with, laugh with, vent to, share mom wins and struggles with, and maybe eventually do coffee dates, walks, playdates, or just hang out while our little ones play.

No pressure and no expectations — just looking for some kind, down-to-earth moms who are also looking for their people ❤️

I'm so lost

My husband had been having an affair for almost a year. I uncovered this when I was 3 months pregnant.

My baby is 11 months now, and we have been trying to rebuild. Someday, I think we are making progress. He has been spending family time with us and taking leave from work to be with us more.

However, today, he was upset about how I speak of his family. I got emotional telling him that I can never respect his family after they barely checked in on me whilst I was pregnant because it was more comfortable for them to brush his affair under a rug and not face it.

He became so cold and horrible. He told me I always deflect whenever he talks about his feelings. He said him being upset has become about why I'm now upset. I don't disagree with this.

However, what upset me was how he was acting towards me. He swore at me, told me to stay in my room, and told me I'd never change. He then proceeded to send me a long message about how I take no accountability, and he can't be upset because he's done worse . He swore at me while holding our baby. He then shouted at me while we were out. I was crying, and he told me to sort my face out before I got out the car while I was in tears.

We never ever argue in front of our baby, so today has been difficult for me seeing how he was being in front of baby. He seemed to have just lost it. It's not a regular occurrence, but I'm just so lost. I can't leave him because I stupidly love him.

Has anyone been through something similar or knows anyone who has? Any advice?

I think I am genuinely over this app

It’s just impossible to make any friends in my 40s. Doesn’t seem like anyone wants to actually talk . I can’t keep up the conversation for everyone !! Is anyone else struggling 😫

I'm 33 and realised I don't have friends!

Like friends I can confide in, pick up the phone and call, laugh with about the silly things. That I would want to be a bridesmaid or godparents to my kids.

Any "friend" I did have, now all feel like acquaintances. Friends from a stage of life - be it school or work.

Whats crazy is I actually enjoy my peace like I don't feel there is a lack. But I think that because previous friendships literally broke my heart. Lets not go down memory lane on the things they did haha.

But seriously the older I get, the less friends I have. My husband is my only friend friend haha. My daughter is my lil bestie and my cat is my bugaboo when it wants food. 😅🤣

Is is a London thing? Like I notice in other countries they seem to focus on friendships more, socialising etc.
