I think I may have accidentally created a bad night sleeping routine with my baby. Can I still change it? HOW?

So, my 1 month old baby is mostly sleeping during the day. But her deep sleep is from morning to midday. The last week, we have been having troubles with her sleeping normally at night and she's been uncomfortable and on/off crying loud as well, which sometimes I am unsure if she's just tired or colic. As a first time mum with only husband as my support, IDK what to do. Like last night, she was crying and sleeping from around 11pm to 4am on/off. She sleeps for like 15mins then cry for almost an hour and repeat. At first, we tried burping her and she was not doing it. She managed to burp but then still cried as if she's uncomfortable.

Having PPD&A also did not help. Everyday I only get 3-4 of sleep (interrupted) they said sleep when the baby sleeps but I just can't as when she's sleeping in the morning, that's when my mind starts thinking about a lot of things.

When will the sleeping get better? 🥺 I want to be a happy and jolly mum for her but doing it tired and sleepless is hard. 😞

**Also, what do I do to lessen her grunts during sleep? sometimes she sounds like she's wheezing and grunting and wakes me up at night. HV said it's normal but just keeps me up and just makes me watch her sleep.

I feel like the bad guy here but sleeping doesn't improve for least the 1st year you won't get her on a better schedule for at least till 6 months old. As for the grunting that's just pre programmed into all newborns she's alright it'll stop around momth 3 when she's not a newborn. Welcome to motherhood it does improve but that first year sleep is elusive

So you've said her deep sleep is from morning to midday is that a solid block of sleep?

If so wake baby from the nap after a couple of hours to have a wake window, feed, change etc. Do naps in bright noisy rooms.

1 month is super early, and to put a downer on things you’ve got at least another 8 weeks before anything improves.

It’s completely normal for baby to sleep for a short amount of time at that age and wake again for a feed. I was super lucky with my girl that she began sleeping longer stretches BUT that wasn’t until the 3-4 month mark and a lot of mums reported their little one having super frequent wake ups waaaay beyond this.

If you want to message me for more in depth convo, feel free - but honestly every baby is different and you can only find what works for you baby - again 1 month is superrrr early for any sort of routine IMO xx

Eh I don't agree with any of the above. If your 1 month old has days and nights mixed up, you can definitely fix that

How long is the stretch in the morning? You want to cap that at 2 hours then wake baby and keep her awake. Stick her in the bath if you have to. She may cry because she wants to be asleep but keep her awake at least 40 mins before you let her go back to sleep.

Have you tracked her sleep?
How many hours of day sleep does she get?

There is no 'normal' at 1 month. You're very much in the newborn trenches and things will change constantly over the next few months (and even years!) when it comes to sleep so I advise you to just go with the flow and do whatever gets everyone in the family the most sleep.

My son was like that until he was about 3/4 months it gets better. You just have to be consistent with routine. What worked for me is during the day I would be up moving around with plenty of light in the house so he knew it was morning time. Started to interact with him more to try to keep him awake a little more and stayed very consistent with bath time at 1/2 months he had bath time around 6:30 he then started to sleep from 7:30 until about 11 at night time I would keep it dark in the room and give bottle burp change n back to sleep with just the tv playing so he knew if was night time.

I sleep training needed here.

But day and night schedule can be learned.

Start by introducing a wake up time, then daylight

You cant "just get it right" when baby is so little. Its so normal mumma for baby not to have a sleep schedule. Honestly best thing you can do is consider cosleeping. Baby wants to be with you, they still think they are part of you and do not understand that they are there own little person yet.

Decided not to cut tongue tie - have I made the right call?

My baby is nearly 6 weeks old and we had an appointment for his tongue tie at 4 weeks, we decided not to cut it.
Context-
He could not breastfeed at all, and lost a lot of weight in the first 3 days however we switched to bottles and he now gains weight brilliantly, some milk comes out the sides of his mouth but it’s never an insane amount and he drinks his bottle without any fuss.
He has a posterior tongue tie which the clinician said is very far back in his mouth. He scored 6/10 and 7/14 on the assessment.
They said to us that healing on a tongue tie this far back would be more difficult and it’s at a higher chance of bleeding after the division which obviously made us nervous. They said it was up to us, and we decided because he is gaining weight on his bottles that we wouldn’t cut it. But now I’m questioning my decision.
Will his posterior tongue tie cause troubles later on? I’ve been told it can affect weaning, speech. He is quite a fussy baby sometimes and now I’m like oh is this because of the tongue tie?
Has anyone not cut their babies tongue tie and they’ve been ok?
Subsequently has anyone had their babies tongue tie cut after the 6 week mark because of other issues they’ve run into?
Advice appreciated x

Night rage

My toddler is 4 and has been awake since 2am (now 5) I just got so frustrated with them for not sleeping I shouted and hit the bed with my hand which immediately made them start crying the guilt I felt was immense at my outburst. So extra comforting apologised explained I'm tried and sorry and love them so much and listed all the things I love their family love etc and gave cuddles and head strokes.
I'm a single mum and struggling with no help or not as much as I actually need and if I'm honest I'd be someone who NEEDED night help but it never came. I just feel so guilty for what I just did. I am a general gentle parent but I will have outburst of just pure rage and I feel so awful like I'm going to damage my child.

Currently heartbroken

How are you healing from heartbreak? It's been 8 months since my husband walked out on me and my 2 little children. He said I was too controlling he didn't feel like himself with me. He basically said he missed his single life. I told him I do too! But we are parents now, there are supposed to be major changes. He wasn't with that and has barely contacted us. I'll spare you the details but it was like I was raising a man child who was neglecting my kids and my feelings. He just threw us away like trash it feels and I'm left to put everything together. On top of that, I'm super alone with no friends and family anywhere close.

I fight tears everyday just to do basic things. It's so hard. Has anyone been this heartbroken? If so, how are you doing and how are you getting through the pain?

Well wishes to you all.
